For this being the latest animal based animated movie, I gotta say that Disney did a phenomenal job; the movie that I am reviewing today is Zootopia!
In the film we are introduced to a little background of how things used to be for animals where the prey hunted the preyed and everything had an order to things, however years have passed and the animals have evolved (or thats how they put it) to where the prey and the preyed now live in harmony, we are introduced to this by little young Judy (Della Saba) rabbit. Saying that you can be whatever you want to be and Judy the Rabbit wanted to be a police officer. We are then taken years later where Judy the Rabbit (Gennifer Goodwin) is now a young woman rabbit and off to the police academy where at first she fails but then succeeds once she tries again. Judy is excited to be graduated as a police officer and is honored by this success by Mayor Lionhart (J.K. Simmons) giving her, her badge personally. On her first day of the job we are introduced to Cheif Bogo (Idris Elba) who acknowledges everything that is happening except for Judy joining the force, instead he gives her a job which could be known as a disgrace to the police force which is being a meter maid. Judy finishes her job long before its even dark out giving out a total of 292 traffic tickets. Judy notices that she is been given a worthless job but wants to make a difference, so one day when shes just about to be fired from her job she chooses to take on a case to find a missing husband to an Otter. When Judy black mails a sly fox known as Nick Wilde (Jason Bateman) to help her on her case to find the missing Otter, only to find out that something called Night Howl (or something like that) is possibly to blame to be making all prey species (tigers, otters, wolves, foxes, etc) lose their minds and go back to their natural ways. Will Judy find a way to save all these 14 or more victims? Or Will all be lost and the world dies? Find out by watching the movie!
Honestly, I have to say that I was really impressed by this movie! The animation was so smooth, the hair on the animals were all smooth and silky, and everything of the movie was so amazing! I truly loved how Disney made this movie to show women and young girls that you can be strong, that you can accomplish anything and everything if you put your mind, body, and soul and devotion into it. I can see the slogan now “If Judy the Rabbit can do it, so can I” I would have to give this movie a B+ with a rating of 4 1/2 out of 5 stars for a great story, fantastic humor, and the special effects/animating beautiful! I highly recommend this film to anyone!
Zootopia is now out in theaters, go see it!
