In last episode Damon (Ian Somerhalder) found Stefan (Paul Wesley) in the snow almost dying of cold, and the vampire in Stefan’s body had disappeared on his way to Memphis to a fraternity party. Well this episode started with Damon and Stefan on their way to find Stefan’s body in Memphis. In the way, Marty’s body started to get sick vomiting blood, so Damon called an ambulance and compeled the paramedics to keep Marty alive. Meanwhile, Damon enlisted Alaric’s help. So, in this episode we got to see more of Dalaric bromance, but Alaric firmly said he was happy all those 3 years without Damon. He for sure has changed his priorities since having the twins and proposed to Caroline (Candice King). I feel bad for Damon, ever since he was awakened by Stefan, everyone has been accusing him for his decision and telling him how they were better without him.
With Alaric’s help Damon found Ambrose, who is the vampire inside Stefan’s body, and they asked Valerie to help them by doing a spell to switch Stefan soul back to his body. Half way in the spell Valerie started to bleed because the spell was too strong for her, but she does not gives up and completes the spell. In a dream-like environment Stefan and Valerie talked about their “relationship” but even when Stefan told her she was not a distraction that he does care for her, she surprised me at the end by leaving behind Stefan and wishing him to be happy; she even told him to try things out with Caroline.
Another thing we got to see was a little more of how Bonnie (Kat Graham) and Enzo (Michael Malarkey) became a thing. So apparently Bonnie has problems with the Armory and Enzo was the one who saved her, but the Armory is still searching for Bonnie so she has been under cover in a psychiatric help center. In an attempt to evade being found by any location spell she has been taking some pills Enzo has given her. Remember those pills made from Reyna’s blood that killed Mary Louise? Yes, those same pills. When Enzo told her about them, he promised to not let her die and to help her. This scene was beautiful in my opinion. They really showed here a lot of chemistry, I felt it. Also, it was really refreshing to see Bonnie so happy for a change. By the end of the episode, Damon found Bonnie and Enzo embracing each other, to his surprise. Then, Bonnie goes to the door where Damon stood and simply closed the door on his face. So, our Bonnie here has not forgiven Damon and it seems she would not forgive him any time soon. We should se what happens next.
