“Alternative Medicine” included so many different plot lines, it felt like it would never end. Don’t get me wrong, I loved it, but at the same time, there was less to focus on.
I think the strongest message that this episode got through was that you have to work hard for what you want, allow people to think for themselves, and just keep moving forward without limitations.
Dr. Reese is presented with a difficult, but wonderful opportunity. The teenager involved in sex trafficking confronts Reese for help and ultimately is able to get his tracking device removed. I’m hoping the writers continue with this storyline, possibly bringing it to Chicago PD to stop the sex traffickers? That would be a cool episode and tie the shows together in a really cool way.
In sad news, a regular cancer patient dies; however, Manning’s eyes are opened to the next generation of scientists and is given hope for a cure in the future. This is motivational.
I think this episode did a nice job of giving viewers a plethora of patients to get invested with, while slowly adding in small pieces of character development along the way. It wasn’t a show stoping episode, but gentle and enjoyable to watch.
