Chicago Med (S02E08): “Free Will”

Review:

“Free Will” was full of new, intriguing patient storylines and new developments for characters we love.

This episode highlighted two very different personalities – both due to the patient’s illness or life circumstance. An important reminder from this episode was: Don’t wrestle with a pig. You both get dirty, but the pig likes it. This is especially important to remember during a critically historic and emotional time period in America.

With that said, I was unhappy with the news that Danny died. Of course I was sad to see this character die, but I also was hoping for more from him. I think because the show is mostly limited to the hospital the writers decided not to get too deeply invested with this character. There was only so much they could do. For now, we’ll have to focus on how Sarah deals with his death and see her character growth through this experience.

There are so many cliffhangers hinted at in this episode. Will Halstead and Manning ever acknowledge their feelings for each other? And what will happen with their patient? Most scary of all, will April and her baby survive?
