The Flash (S03E22) “Infantino Street”

The moment we all have been waiting for finally came; the moment if Barry (Grant Gustin) could indeed save Iris (Candice Patton) from being murdered by Savitar (voiced by Tobin Bell [played by Grant Gustin]). But we also saw another moment come to pass within this episode of full on depression and sadness the beginning of the fight of Cisco (Carlos Valdes) and Killer Frost (Danielle Panabaker). But before I get to anything I will say that this season it has been interesting to say the least. Although I will admit I would’ve really loved to have seen this season having Barry truly fight against the true god of speed Savitar without having an identity to reveal. But with this season having The Future Flash as the villain pretending to be a god its good too.

With only 24 hours left until Iris (Candice Patton) dies, and no one is able to sleep. The whole opening of the episode just felt depressing. It gives you the vibe (pun intended) that this episode is going to end with a sad note so I wasn’t fully surprised they chose to do the opening this way. But I was kinda hoping for the heck of it that things would’ve ended differently but we will get to that eventually.

When Barry (Grant Gustin) and Cisco (Carlos Valdes) go to Lyla (Audrey Anderson) to see if she will give up the tech Barry needs to power up the speed force bazooka. But Lyla refuses which forces Barry to go to deep measures. Barry time travels when Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) was still alive with the Legends of Tomorrow. Right after they got done with the mission in Syria 1862 (I believe it was). When Captain Cold agrees to go with Barry back to present time, however everyone of Team Flash is surprised that Barry broke his promise to the speed force that he would never time travel again. But Barry did promise Iris he would do whatever it took to save Iris from her fate.

Barry and Captain Cold go to Argus to get the tech stolen, when Barry and Cold get down to the level they enter into the Suicide Squad hall with only a few names that we all know like Grodd, Cupid, King Shark (David Hayter), and (a new member) Cheetah; for those of you who don’t know, Cheetah is a Wonder Woman villain her number 1 arch enemy some may say. And since the Wonder Woman television show never did have a chance to even air one episode; The CW network thought it would’ve been nice to throw Cheetah’s name out there as a easter egg to DC Comic fans.

When Barry and Cold get to the door of the device they find out King Shark is the one guarding the device. Within a full moment from the movie Jaws happening to Barry to get the tech. He retrieves it only to get Cold locked in with King Shark, as Cisco is trying to help get Cold out of the room, Cold tells Barry “if Cisco gets me out of here alive I’ll put a good word in for him for my sister” definitely was a hilarious line. Cisco gets the door open getting Cold out of the room but not before King Shark grabbed Cold by his legs; Cisco closed the door on King Shark’s hand. Barry ends up getting the tech even after all of that but just when you think everything ends up being good and the team is going to win. Savitar/Future Flash (Grant Gustin) disguised himself as Barry to get info on where Iris is; H.R. Wells (Tom Cavanagh) ends up telling him where she is on Earth-2 with Joe (Jesse L. Martin), Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale) and Harry (Tom Cavanagh).

Savitar then goes to Earth-2 leaving Wally with a broken leg and feeling guilty that hes the one whose going to be at fault for Iris’s death. Savitar takes Iris and awaits for time to get to the zero hour. Barry then goes to the place where it will all happen while the team prepares for trapping Savitar. But Cisco isn’t able to join the team after a vibe he got from the future of where the battle of Killer Frost and Vibe/Cisco will take place. As their battle begins the zero hour is then among us for Iris’s death.

When the trap fails thanks to the philosophers stone, Joe gets lined up for a shot but is worried about hitting Iris so he doesn’t take the shot. The events of the future then become full circle Barry begging Savitar to not kill Iris but Savitar only wanting to be freed from Barry once and for all; Barry runs as fast as he can to save Iris but gets there too late as Savitar stabs Iris through the chest then zooms off. We are then left in tears as Barry cries over Iris’s corpse.
