Rough Night (2017)

I will admit I did have doubts about this movie only because I didn’t know anything about this movie other than it being a comedy and it had Scarlett Johansen in it. And I was like sure I’ll see this film. Then I saw a trailer of the movie and I was like I’m even more excited for this movie now. If your someone who doesn’t understand all types of humor then you probably wont get every joke in this film but as for me I laughed so hard I thought I wasn’t going to be able to breathe but I’m writing this review so it shows you I’m still alive.

This film is basically about these five friends; Jess (Scarlett Johansen), Alice (Jillain Bell), Blair (Zoe Kravetz), Frankie (Ilana Glazer), and Pippa (Kate McKinnon) who went to college together. 10 years later Jess is about to be married and her friends want to throw her a bachelorette party, they head down to Miami and party. During the night the friends kill a male stripper (Ryan Cooper) and things get hairy quickly, thinking they are all about to go to jail they find ways to dispose of the body but nothing seems to work. This hilarious comedy will have you non-stop laughing throughout the whole movie.

I will have to admit, with all of the action packed movies Scarlett Johansen has been doing I really thought she was going to forget how to be funny within a comedy based film. But she did a really good job; it impressed me a whole lot I know its been years since shes done a comedy kind of film but like how I said she did great.

Kate McKinnon also did great since she had to do an Australian accent throughout the whole film. I mean Australian accents aren’t always the easiest accent to do when acting, its said to sometimes be the hardest for some actors but Kate McKinnon did it like a natural. She was fantastic and just like in the Ghostbusters movie last year she was hilariously funny in this film as well. I have a feeling Kate McKinnon is over all a fun person to hang around with, like she would literally be the life of the party but thats my opinion.

Ilana Glazer I have to admit with her she did the same acting style as she did in the movie Night Before. She was hilarious, especially in scenes that centered around her and her protest groups in the film. Her acting in this film however was good I think she has a future probably or mostly only in comedies though but everyone has their own opinion you know.

Overall this film was really good, and I would recommend this film to anyone, especially if you like comedies!

I rate this film: 5/5 stars
