Alias Grace premieres

Based on the 1996 novel of the same name by Margaret Atwood, the six-episode series tells the story of Grace Marks, a young, poor, Irish immigrant and domestic servant in Upper Canada. Grace, along with stable hand James McDermott,  finds herself accused and convicted of the infamous 1843 murders of her employer, wealthy farmer Thomas Kinnear, and his housekeeper, Nancy Montgomery.
Alias Grace is packed with references to the beliefs and prejudices of the period, from Victorian spiritualism to anti-immigrant bigotry.
Mondays on CBC.
