The Flash (S04E01) “The Flash Reborn”

Rebirth, that is the only word I can really say for this premiere episode! This episode literally brings back a lot of memories from Season 1 and I truly am satisfied with the events to come for this season. We are now going into the comic book series that DC Comic book readers are still reading known as Rebirth.  Lets get to this review which we have a lot of things to talk about.

So with this episode we have new team that includes Cisco (Carlos Valdes), Kid Flash (Keiynan Lonsdale), Iris (Candice Patton) and Joe (Jesse L. Martin) however the team hasn’t been quite the same since Barry’s (Grant Gustin) departure from Earth 6 months ago into the speed force. When a new threat comes to Central City, the team has to trick the speed force to bring Barry back to our world. Which works but brings him back not fully right in the head though!

I have a theory that when Barry was writing in that weird language that it might’ve been the language of the speed force itself running through his head making him seem to the others that he had lost his mind until someone breaks the cycle. Its like a personal hell but with bad migraines and no right sense with your mind in general. I mean in a way it does make sense because Barry was in between both Hell and Heaven of the speed force for what the others say 6 months but to Barry it could’ve been billions and billions of years; eternity to make it simple.

I have to say though, with Barry having the suit that his future self wore in the year 2024, its a perfect Flash suit that resembles the comic book version of the suit with the super bright red and the bright golden streaks of lightning all through the suit. Its the perfect suit for Barry to wear during this season. Especially since this whole season will be based around the comic stories of Rebirth and I’m truly excited to see what they have to offer this season.

I’ve also been really excited for this season, one because we get one of my favorite television actresses coming to this series playing the role of The Mechanic (Kim Engelbrecht), yes you heard me say Kim Engelbrecht, who you might know her playing the role of Noma from Dominon series but shes been an amazing actress and I’m so excited to seeing her first appearance in this episode. We also got our first look at our main villain of the season;DeVoe the Thinker (Neil Sandilands) and its going to be awesome seeing how The Flash goes up against these two villains and I just might root for the Mechanic since its Kim Engelbrecht, who doesn’t love her?

Another thing I’m really hoping they keep for this season is Barry’s long hair so that he slowly starts looking like the future version of himself we saw in 2024, I just think it would be really cool, maybe its just me.
