Inhumans (S01E07) "Havoc in the Hidden Land"

With this episode I can see this series taking a turn which doesn’t surprise me, because its on ABC same station that airs Agents of Shield so really the turn around didn’t surprise me as much as it did with other viewers. The turn around was really going in the direction of Agents of Shield series which I figured the Inhumans series would do eventually but didn’t expect it to happen so close to the season finale. We have next weeks episode and then season finale; will ABC renew this series or will it be another throw away series that we all love and ABC sees it as a waste? After all ABC has done it to other series’s in the past six years. I guess we will see though!
This episode we saw our beloved Inhuman royal family return to Atilan but with a cost of course. I mean everything comes with a cost and of course they did reveal one detail from the comics that Maximus (Iwan Rheon) did to Atilan to secure that Black Bolt (Anson Mount) never kills Maximus and thats the fail safe protocol that makes Atilan become destroyed in Maximus is ever killed. Which is why Black Bolt and Medusa (Serinda Swan) created prison after prison to keep Maximus always in absolute darkness. At least thats what happened in the comics and watch thats what’s going to happen on the show too eventually.
I really liked that they brought back Triton (Mike Moh) to the episodes again, I was really thinking that he had really died back on the first episode especially since they were only mentioning him by name after that incident. But sure enough they brought him back and its sad that Gorgon (Eme Ikuwakor) really did die in that heroic act, but looks like he won’t stay dead for long or will he it’s hard to say when it comes to the Marvel Universe.
And its interesting to see that Auran (Sonya Balmores) is finally realizing she has turned to the wrong side and must make a choice to side with the royals or still side with Maximus. I’m betting that Auran will side with Black Bolt and beg for forgiveness; and then realize that Maximus was really an insane human that needs to be locked up. But only time will tell and Auran has been known in the comics to switch sides more than once. Shes more of someone who chooses the side that she knows will win.
Karnak (Ken Leung) I just couldn’t stand his decisions that he made this episode, normally I can stand him, but this episode with him obsessing over getting his old friend Gorgon back from the dead it just felt out of character. Granted it did work thanks to Dr. Declan (Henry Cusick) unfinished work but now I’m thinking there will be side effects to the secondary teragenisis. Like Gorgon will grow a full horse body for his legs and literally be a centaur; but I guess we will see what happens next episode.
I just know that next weeks episode will be a fantastic end to the season and hopefully we get a season 2 because lets just face it we need more Lockjaw in our lives! Lockjaw that adorable giant dog!
Next episode: Inhumans(S01E08): “…And Finally: Black Bolt” airs Friday November 10, 2017 at 9/8c on ABC
