Van Helsing(S02E06): “Veritas Vincit”

With this episode we had a new character revealed and we also had some jaw dropping discoveries as well. We had a new group revealed within the vampire ranks and this one seems to have some hatred over the other vampires. And if for some reason this series doesn’t get renewed can Syfy allow some kind of spin off series about our samurai wielding new character? It would be awesome to see how the character was trained through her life. But lets hope that this series is renewed though, because we all need Van Helsing in our lives.

So with this episode we found out that its not just Vanessa (Kelly Overton) and the ones she turned back to human that are having these visions about the red door or what I call the red room. But it’s also a dream happening to Dimitri (Paul Johansson) and everyone who has some kind of connection towards Vanessa. They all have dreams or visions about that red door. What’s so special about it? What secrets does it hold? Well thats what we found out in today’s episode. And it was also really nice seeing Susan (Hilary Jardine) in an episode again even if it was just a dream sequence. It makes me realize how much I miss Susan on the show.

We also found out who the samurai wielding mystery character is that we’ve seen in other episodes, the one who saved Mohammad (Trezzo Mahoro) from Anastasia perhaps or at least thats what I’m thinking. The identity of this samurai badass is Scarlett (Missy Peregrym). Which I have to say being a fan of Missy Peregrym ever since she was on the television show Reaper was a bit of a surprise to see her acting on this show. Granted her career has gotten a lot awesome after her role on the comedy horror series. And now we get her as much as a badass as Vanessa on Van Helsing. It’s just awesome, and an honor to have her on this show. I hope they don’t kill her off!

We also had the adventures of Doc (Rukiya Bernard) and Julius (Aleks Paunovic) but of course the adventure wasn’t all fun and giggles. There was one part where I thought both of them were going to die because of Doc’s worried and panicked self set off a bomb, but thanks to Julius quick thinking they managed to survive. But we also found out that Julius is afraid of needles, kinda funny but we wont make a big deal about it. After all there are a lot of people who are afraid of needles we can just add Julius as one of those people now.

We met a group of vampires who hate vampires, yes people you heard me right. The Sisterhood or at least thats what Dimitri calls them. To try and recruit them he sent in Scab (Rowland Pidlubny) to try and recruit them, but it seems like the Sisterhood still doesn’t have a heart for Dimitri after the betrayal they’ve felt from his followers before. And The Sisterhood knows and remembers betrayal very well, I’m sure they are not going to trust Dimitri nor side with him ever again. But I guess we will see eventually!

We also found out a big reveal, our new character Scarlett (Missy Peregrym) is actually related to Vanessa (Kelly Overton) the two of them are sisters with memories that were implanted to make them seem like they have different lives. But now they know they are sisters and they sadly never knew each other existed but now they do like I said before we need some kind of spin-off series or comic series about Scarlett’s past before she met Vanessa! I think that would be a pretty cool idea to have done with this badass character.

And just when we got answers about the Red Door, revealing the lab that Dimitri was trying to recreate in his facility. And then revealing a creepy computer that asked if you would like to play a game, that is some Jigsaw creepiness right there and that smiley face, could’ve been creepier. We also got revealed in that room, the office that revealed the truth about Scarlett and Vanessa to each of them.

I can not wait for the next episode and it looks like its going be very interesting!
