It was announced Monday that the hit USA Network series “Shooter” will be back for a bigger thrid season. Ryan Phillip confrimed the news via social media.
The renewal news comes just three months after the season finale of Season 2, which was cut short due to Philippe’s broken leg. TVLine as learned that the upcoming season three will contain 13 episodes instead of the usual ten episode (presumably to make up for/fold in the two that go lopped off from season two.)
In seqson 3, which will be based loosely on Black Light (the second book in the Bob Lee Swagger series by Stephen Hunter), Bob Lee (Philippe) struggles to put an end to the events of Season 2. As he does so, a nemesis reveals mysterious detrails surrounding his father Earl’s death, which leads the retired sniper towards a startling conspiracy that hits close to home.
Production for season 3 begins in January in Las Angeles.
