Okay so we had our first taste of the second world killer for the season and with it we had a good episode. But there are also so many questions left unanswered. But I will get to that in a little bit. All I know is that it was a good episode and I loved every moment in the episode! Lets get to the review!
So with this episode we had the introduction to Purity (Krys Marhsall) and with the name such as Purity you would think her abilities would be something like purifying/blinding light as her power or purifying the soul but no instead its sonic blasts with a vibrating the earth kind of power. I guess it’s still awesome but just feels like they should’ve given her a different name. But it was good to see her as the villainous character that she is meant to be though.
I thought it was weird though that Alex (Chyler Leigh) was so hateful in the beginning moments of the episode. Only seeing the evil in everyone which is never like Alex. I mean sure we all understand that she’s still hurting from the break up between her and Maggie. But it’s no reason to take it out on everyone else though you know. But eventually she did come around which is good, because one thing that I always hate is when there is a Danver sisters argument or fight that goes on. Those are the scenes that I just can’t stand because we all know that Kara (Melissa Benoist) and Alex have a loving sister relationship. And when they fight it breaks our hearts.
In this episode we saw Kara trying her best to get through to Purity and when it didn’t work; Kara chose to fight against Purity and turn her into an enemy. Which wasn’t the best choice, it almost killed alot of people and when Purity almost killed Kara; Kara finally got ahold of Purity’s human side Julia to help Kara out and put Purity back to sleep. Just when it was feeling like a win, Reign (Odette Annable) had to ruin it by making it a win for her by taking Purity to wake her up and eliminate her human side.
Which comes to the next part of the review; if both Reign and Purity were put on Earth raised as humans, then aren’t all three world killers technically screwed? Because no matter how much all three world killers are bent on destroying this earth and making a new earth, they won’t fully be able to if they are having to always fight against their human sides. It’s practically battling yourself! Like how we saw Reign battling against her human counter part Samantha for most of the season already. And now we have Julia fighting against her evil counter part Purity. So the next question is will Pestilence be the same way? Or will she be more of full convergence? It’s hard to say until they reveal Pestilence and who knows who will play the character since as far as we know haven’t casted the character yet. Guess we will have to play the waiting game.
And now that Lena (Katie McGrath) has now seen Samantha’s “black out” but what I call Reign take over, for herself and now vows to help her but what if Lena’s help actually destroys Samantha and allows Reign to take full control? It’s a big what if, but still you can’t help but to wonder if it will happen. Like I said before guess we will have to wait and see!
