Alright I have to admit I really loved this episode, not because of it being a time loop episode which made some situations in this episode really funny and humorous. But what made me love this episode so much is seeing it as a Zari (Tala Ashe) focused episode. Thats what made me really love it the most, cause I have to admit I’m starting to become a fan of Zari!
So with this episode we saw that Zari (Tala Ashe) is stuck in a time loop after the Legends come back from a mission, where Zari has to find the source of an explosion before the ship explodes in one hour. When Zari tries finding help through Nate (Nick Zano) to stop the time loop, only to get no where and find out way too much information about all the groups extra curricular activities. Like Heatwave/Rory (Dominic Purcell) writing a scifi/romance novel that needed a better ending according to Zari. Or Nate and Amaya’s (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) sex life in the library and memory wiping themselves afterwards. Or when Constantine (Matt Ryan) told Ray (Brandon Routh) about killing Sara (Caity Lotz) if Mallus (John Noble) ever took possession over her again.
Now I knew there would be a reference to Groundhog Day movie but it was also funny that Zari couldn’t remember the movie title and called it Hedgehog Day. Now I do have to admit that Zari has been that team member that hasn’t fully fit in with the whole team; only with some of the members and past members but she has been trying her best. And I’ve slowly been becoming a fan of Zari, I mean you gotta love her and the amount of effort she does put in to helping the team out. Especially with her time hanging around with Ray, I mean she has literally learned a lot from Ray, especially of how nice and kind he always has been to her.
But looking at Zari’s past through what we know so far about her past and of how she came to be the totem barer after her brother past away. But do you really blame her by creating that simulation to try to figure out a way to save her brother from dying. I mean if Sara’s sister Laurel wasn’t a fixed point in time, I’m sure Sara would try and try again to do the same thing. But it’s because Laurel’s death is a huge fixed point in time that is now counted as the past, Sara knows reversing Laurel’s death would have extreme consequences just like how Barry (Grant Gustin) did last season with The Flash. We don’t want a do-over with Flashpoint after all!
But it’s because Zari’s brother was murdered in the future the point of time isn’t exactly a fixed one yet, it’s a multiple variety of timelines that could still happen for Sara’s point of existing in time. Which makes it still a possibility to save Zari’s brother; which I have a feeling will be a future episode maybe in a future season if not this season. But because of there being short amount of episodes left it’s hard to say if they will be able to squeeze Zari’s brother’s saving in a future episode of this season. But I would love to see Zari continue her stay on the waive rider and continue being a legend through time. But now that Zari has gotten to know all of the legends a lot better now, maybe she wont be feeling much like an outsider from now on in future episodes.
