Interview with Hana Mae Lee

Hey everyone! I hope you’ve all been well! Today I have a special treat for you guys. I was lucky enough to interview the fabulously brilliant Hana Mae Lee! As a chameleon of comedy, Hana has graced our screens in like likes of Californication, Pitch Perfect, and most recently Haunters. I checked out the online musical and instantly fell in love! I urge all of you out there to head over to YouTube and give it a watch. So with out further ado; the interview.
Tell us about Haunters, and your character Anna.
Haunters is a musical horror-comedy where the ghosts haunt jerks.  Anna does what’s in her nature. She’s a 1920’s flapper dancer that lets her jealousy and ego get the best of her. She LOVES drama. And she always sports great brows!
What’s the one song you wish you would have gotten to perform in Haunters?
All of J. Adam Brown’s songs, but using his voice and just me lip-syncing, his voice is super handsome.
What drew you to participate in Haunters?
I met J. on a shoot in Canada in 2015, he told me about a musical horror comedy he was writing and I was very interested. Plus J. is super talented so I wanted to be a part of his project.
Why should people watch Haunters?
Because everyone wants to know what happens when you die and you’ll find your answer here.
If you could design something for any person, alive or dead, who would it be?
I’m on hiatus so no one right now.
What is your favorite type of clothing to design, and what are your favorite materials to work with?
Jackets. Meaterials: Lamb leather, patent leather,… anything leather and anything wool, they’re beautiful to work with.
You’ve worked on some pretty fantastic comedies, is there any behind the scenes stories that stand out?
Loved working on “Californication.”  Pamela Adlon couldn’t stop saying my lines when we weren’t shooting, “you poop on me,” and “put bag on it.” Wait, these may be too vulgar for this interview… sorry?

What draws you to the roles you audition for?
Money. And how much I can get paid for a gig. If the writing is good, that’s always a plus. Right now I’m looking to do more dramatic roles, I’m available for hire for the right price. Thank you.
If you could live in any era what would it be? Do you think you’d have a different profession?
The era where I don’t have to work and worry. What era was that?… I want to be in that one please.
Are there any personal projects you are dying to make but haven’t been able to for whatever reasons?
Yes, but right now I am trying to do them finally after 4 years!
Are there any franchises you would love to join? If so do you have any particular characters in mind?
Fast and Furious 25, 26, 27, 28, 29. Playing a kick ass character that drifts to win, even if Vin D. and The Rock, Dwayne J. get really annoyed at my character cause she’s always driving a busted ass car. I’m talking like busted, like no ac, no good brakes, no good doors, just dents everywhere, rattling noises even when the car isn’t on kind of busted. Just dragging oils and water all over the streets. My character would be called, “caus’n a scene”.
What is your favorite song to perform and why?
Cher’s “Believe” is super catchy and puts me in a great mood, plus I sing along to it in my Cher voice, so that’s always fun, for probably just me.
Have you ever considered doing voice-overs for games or animation?
Always, I am available for hire. Call me.
Is there something you’ve always wanted to try but have never gotten the chance to?
I’m really into forensics, would love to get into some of that crime problem-solving. Checking out the shoe print and finding the killer. Love them forensics.
Where is your favorite place to travel and why?
I hate traveling in my mind that’s for sure, so now you know. Physically I’m not a huge fan of flying in the air BUT when I have, I did love Paris and Prague. Paris is beautiful and I love the culture and the art. Prague looks like an old beautiful clean set stage and they don’t put any preservatives in their foods so their food is sooo good. Plus, they have amazing castles and beautiful canals, it’s divine.
I absolutely adored having the opportunity to interview Hana, and I hope all of you enjoyed reading it! Please be sure to check out Haunters on YouTube for her newest project. You certainly won’t regret it! Be sure to let us know what your favorite song was in the comments!
