Interview with Kasey Cohen

What made you decided to sign up for BelowDeckMed?

I’ve always wanted new and exciting adventures in my life, and since I’ve worked on boats, I figured this would be a great way to enhance my experience!

How’d you get into sailing, especially after being in pageants?

Pageants was just one of the few experiences I was interested in, and since I grew up on the water, I was always around boats and always had an interest in working in the industry!

What was the hardest thing about filming the season?

It was a lot more work than I anticipated it would be. It was a really tough job!

I have to ask you, really never did laundry before joining  BelowDeckMed?

I did my own laundry while away at college but I didn’t have to worry about perfection because it was only my own.

Going from a pampered princess to overworked Cinderella must have been a hard transition.  What was the hardest thing to deal with while living on the yacht?

Even though some may think of me as a “pampered” princess, it’s only at home, as I’ve been working paid jobs since I was nine years old. I think people have this misconception about me, and although I was spoiled to a point, my parents made sure to instill the value of hard work and the value of a dollar in me. The hardest thing about living on the yacht was having to prove myself and my work ethic to a crew who already pre-judged me before knowing me.

Did you ever regret joining BelowDeckMed?

I don’t regret anything in life, because everything is a learning experience and I’ve grown as a person as a result of everything that I have done.

What do you do when you’re not sailing around the world?

I like working out, traveling, and looking forward to new experiences!

What was the craziest thing a guest asked you for this season?

Surprisingly, none of the guests asked me to do anything crazy.

What’s next for you?

I don’t know! I’m looking forward to the next adventure that crosses my path!

Which is harder?  Being a yachtie, or pageant contestant?

They’re equally difficult but in different ways!

If you could go back, would you still join the cast?

Of course! As hard a job as it was, I made some great friends and had an amazing experience!

What was the most exciting thing that happened on charter?

Honestly, there’s just too many to single out just one!

What’s one thing about yourself that would surprise fans?

I’m someone who values family and friends as the most important things in my life.

I would bend over backwards to help not only them but anyone in need.

Excited to see her in action?  Tune in Tuesday nights at 9/8c on Bravo to see her and the rest of the crew on BelowDeckMed.
