Okay this episode was a good one, never have I thought that this series would pick up the topic of gun violence especially since we’ve had many, many many episodes where this topic has never been an issue but they made it one this episode and it’s important that they but I will get to that in a little bit. Lets start getting this review started though!
So with this episode Kara/Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) chose to return to Argon to be with her people, but was that the best choice to make? While we were left with no Supergirl to defend National City, at least they still had the DEO and other heroes on the earth to help while Supergirl is away. But we also helped the problem with Reign (Odette Annable) or did we? I feel like that the cure did work to an extent, but because the rock was meant to be used as a ingredient to make a world killer, that if she was ever reactivated that maybe it will transform or evolve Sam into a new Reign. But I guess we will have to wait and see!
Now on Earth there was trouble, but not the normal trouble, it was weapons that were originally made for the D.E.O but sold to the public customized to look and shoot exactly alike. Now you have to understand that this would make Jon Jonnz (Dave Harewood) upset especially with him knowing that the supplier who creates and distributes the guns made the decision to customize and sell to the public as a hunting rifle. Never have I thought though that this topic would come to the series, gun control/gun violence etc. It’s a topic that is plaguing this world to this day, especially in our schools and day to day life, gun violence has been a problem for decades but its only these past 5 years that it has made an impact to our lives. Gun violence has become an issue and I’m glad that they brought it to this series cause even in this episode seeing how people think guns can make everything better. It really brought you into the mind of the shooter of what they think, but it still doesn’t make it right. The issue has been making its ways to where kids are dying from officers and their own peers, does it make it right? No it doesn’t! But the fact is that the solution they came up with for the D.E.O was the best decision, to destroy the guns and create non-lethal weapons. It made a lot of D.E.O agents mad and walk out but others stayed showing that they will support Jon’s decisions no matter what.
Meanwhile, Kara had a lot of things happen while on Argon, like the Dark Kryptonian Sisters (Anjali Jay & Kerry Sandomirsky) made their selves known and escaped to call upon Reign once more, but what does this mean for Sam? Will Reign take over again and boot Sam back into the other dimension or will Sam and Reign be now the same person? It’s hard to really know what will happen and what Reign will become until we see the next two episodes.
