Supergirl (S03E22) “Make it Reign”

Alright guys and gals, this episode it was interesting but it also has to make you wonder. Do the writers ever watch movies or actually pay attention to the finished product instead of just watching the episode get filmed and then be like “okay onto the next” cause I feel like they need to pay attention now that they’ve literally stolen a piece of the film Man of Steel for the Supergirl series, but we will get to that in a little bit. Now lets get to this review!

Okay people so this episode Kara/Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) is trying to figure out what is the Dark Kryptonian (Anjali Jay) plan for Earth and why she went down there since Reign/Sam (Odette Annable) were both separated, only to find out that was the Dark one’s plan all of along so that Reign can be singular and powerful. But thats not the only plan that the Dark Kryptonian’s have for Earth, so apparently the Dark Kryptonian’s are wanting to terraform the Earth into a new Krypton, but in order to do that. the Earth’s population must die so that it can be reborn into the new Krypton. Now does that plan sound familiar? It should which brings me to another part of the review.

So, for those of you who have watched Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel movie, the whole movie is pretty much the only thing that Zack Snyder did get right about the DC Extended Universe films. But in the film, General Zod plans to make Earth the new Krypton, but in order to do that General Zod has to destroy the entire Earth population by terraforming the Earth. Sound familiar? I literally feel like the writers were like, it didn’t go well for Superman in the films which forced the not so great Batman v Superman film to be made, maybe the writers don’t even watch movies, maybe all the writers hate the DC films and so they thought doing it on TV was the best move! But it can lead to back lash as well if they are not careful about it. Lets hope this terraforming doesn’t lead to a Batgirl v Supergirl confrontation because lets face it Batman would interfere and be all like “I couldn’t defeat your cousin but I can defeat you cause I’m Batman” no one wants to see a TV version of a horrible movie that was made. I think the only thing that was really good about Batman v Superman was the reveal of Wonder Woman and The Flash. But you never know people maybe they are trying to make a Batwoman v Supergirl moment in the Arrowverse since they are working on getting Batwoman casted for next seasons of the Arrowverse.

As for this episode, besides the terraforming of the Earth; J`onn (David Harewood) and his father M`yrnn (Carl Lumbly) work on getting the memories transfered to J`onn which was some great moments of the episode. It was really interesting to see moments from the White Martian invasion on Mars to the creation of Mars’s Martians even J`onn’s birth and how he was held up like Simba from the Lion King in front of all his people. I bet J`onn wont be able to watch Lion King after getting those memories from his father. But now that the process has been interrupted by the terraforming of the Earth lets hope the process can be continued if M`yrnn doesn’t sacrifice himself to try to save it!

Overall this episode was good and we all can’t wait to see how the Season Finale will be!
