Supergirl (S03E23) “Battles Lost and Won”

Alright guys and gals, this season finale episode was what I would think would have to be the best season finale so far! Literally it prepares for so much for season 4 of the series! We will get to that stuff in a little bit but first lets get a start on this season finale review that was incredibly super!

So with this season finale we did have at least one death which¬† we all knew was going to happen eventually, yes My`rnn (Carl Lumbly) sacrificed himself to stop the terragenesis of forming the “new Krypton” but at least My`rnn was able to help J`onn (David Harewood) learn the importance of their home world Mars. But now that the old martian is gone, what will become of J`onn now? As we learned he has stepped down from the D.E.O. as director and is going to just live among the humans until the next threat comes for him to step out of the shadows. But now we have Alex (Chyler Leigh) becoming director of the D.E.O. and I think we all can agree that she will make one fine director of the company. But what paths will Alex take the D.E.O. thats something that we are going to have to wait to find out as we watch Season 4 in the fall!

This episode also explains why Jeremy Jordan who plays our lovable but sometimes annoying nerd Winn, has been thrown to recurring role instead of series regular for Season 4 and also explains why Jesse Rath who plays the quirky Brainiac-5 has been promoted to series regular for Season 4. Apparently in the future now that the Blight never happened Brainiac-5 (Jesse Rath) very distant relative known as the “evil one” which we all have to assume is the original Brainiac has resurfaced and is infecting all artificial intelligences with a deadly virus that is going to kill them. So now Winn has to go to the future with Mon-El (Chris Wood) and Saturn Girl/Imra (Amy Jackson) to save all the A.I’s of the future from Brainiac’s virus, will they succeed we will find out in Season 4 at sometime. Fair well Winn, we will miss having you around in every episode and we hope you have luck saving the future. But lets state the fact that Brainiac-5 has some learning to do, such as Star Wars; how in the hell has this A.I. never heard of Star Wars? I mean is Star Wars still a thing in the future? Maybe not! Maybe it got burned from existence we will never know.

So in this episode when Sam (Odette Annable) helped Kara/Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) kill Reign (Odette Annable) but in the process it also killed Aurora (Erica Durance), Mon-El, and Sam all killed by Reign’s heat vision. Because Kara felt like she has let down everyone including herself she uses Mon-El’s legion ring to travel back in time which that whole scene literally made me think back when we saw Barry (Grant Gustin) use the speed force. But instead of speed, she used flight, I wonder if we can call it the Flight Force sounds catchy doesn’t it? Because Kara went back in time, they did things differently which involved going down into the underworld to send Reign to Lilith’s Wraiths.

Now in Season 4 it looks like Kara is going to have another super villain to deal with. But wait, it’s herself! I’m theorizing that it might even be another version of Bizzaro Supergirl created by the herendahl. I guess we will have to wait and see when Season 4 comes to us in the fall!

Supergirl Season 4 will be coming to us in the fall most likely in October on Sundays!
