This episode brings us to the halfway mark of season one. New deals are made and more secrets are revealed. I have to say, I am really worried about Angel (Clayton Cardenas), who seems to keep making bad decisions. Emily (Sarah Bolger) and EZ (JD Pardo) can’t seem to keep their distance from one another, which is causing problems.
Emily and EZ
EZ visits Emily in the hospital after he finds out that she is there. He needs to be snuck in of course, but this doe not remain a secret meeting. After Miguel (Danny Pino) is told he has a surprisingly calm meeting with EZ. I expected a face punch at the very least. He did warn EZ that if there was a next meeting, it would go down very differently. Later Emily goes to EZ and they almost kiss, but were interrupted by Angel. Sarah Bolger And JD Pardo have such chemistry that it’s hard to take your eyes off the screen.
Angel (And his bad ideas)
Angel is already putting himself in a very bad position helping the rebels. Now he has made a deal to move the rest of the drugs. A deal with someone who has already killed a house full of people and clearly murder does not even phase him. Then while trying to seal the deal with the new buyer, he gets himself held for ransom. You are being watched Angel. Please cover your tracks like your life depends on it… because it does.
Felipe (Edward James Olmos) does some detective work to find dirt on Jimenez (Maurice Compte). He finds the location of Jimenez’s family to get him to back off. I have a feeling that one should not take Felipe’s warnings lightly. Blackmail can work both ways Kevin Jimenez, don’t say that you weren’t warned.
Adelita (Carla Baratta) helps EZ get Angel back from the house he is being held. She did needs some coaxing from EZ, but she and the rebels came through. I knew she could hold her own, but she is seriously bad to the bone. I do love a strong woman and she fits the bill.
