Okay guys and gals we had another great episode brought to us tonight! We had a lot of pretty good moments in tonight’s episode, and I think a lot of people will like this episode especially if your a fan of Japanese films. So lets get to this review!
So in this episode the Legends had to deal with a monster brought to life through the book of a goddess. In the world of Japan 1951, a Japanese director brought his drawings to life through the book and the Legends had to figure out a way to vanquish the evil monster that came to life. The director called his creation Tagumo which was a kraken like monster that would cause mayhem wherever it went. Does that sound similar? It should because our Japanese director in the episode was in fact Ishiro Honda who created the monster movies Godzilla in 1954. So three years before the movies should’ve been made they were kinda being made but under low key! But I do like that this idea gave him the imagery for Godzilla though, that was a fun little tid bit that they threw into there for this episode.
I also like how they had Mick/Heatwave (Dominic Purcell) become the answer for defeating Honda’s evil kraken like monster, but the question is what did become of that book? Whatever might’ve became of it, it did allow Heatwave to reveal his hidden passion to the team, finally. I mean we all knew that Zari (Tala Ashe) knew about his writing because of that time loop episode which was one of the best episodes last season! But this season I’m already loving every episode! And I love that it’s Mick who gave Honda the idea about Godzilla the King of Monsters! After all every Godzilla fan, wither you are old or new to the franchise you know that the old Godzilla movies were the best ones! Everything else hasn’t been all that great! Okay I take that back, the 2014 version was really good for most parts!
While most of the Legends were on the mission, Ray (Brandon Routh) had his own agenda to be able to help Constantine (Matt Ryan), Ray had to track down Nora (Courtney Ford) to help Constantine! When Ray tracked down Nora, she agreed to help, but I feel like even though Nora did have a favor that Ray cashed in, I feel like she didn’t do it because of that favor. I know I’m probably reading too much into it because sometimes I do. But I feel like Nora really did agree to help because she did have help from Constantine when she was kid with that demon Mallus. And I feel like in a way of doing this soul transfusion she was repaying the help that Constantine did for her so long ago. I know I probably read into it way too much but that’s my theory. And Nora did go into Constantine’s head to see the mysterious figure (Darien Martin) of who is after Constantine. But the question remains, who is this figure? Could it possibly be Nargul in a human facade? Could it be another Angel who went to the darkside? Could it be another demon? I know so many questions and no answers yet, but maybe we will get some answers soon enough! Time will tell!
