Okay guys and gals we had a great episode brought to us tonight! We had what I would say an icy episode tonight that brought a familiar face back to one’s consciousness, a new icy villain rose, and a short family reunion that went bad all and more that happened in tonight’s episode so lets get to the review!
So in this episode we had Sherloque (Tom Cavanagh), Nora (Jessica Parker Kennedy), and Iris (Candice Patton) went to go investigate more on Cicada (Chris Klein) but while that was going on, our big bad of the season went on the hunt for another meta-human and it was a sharp one. The meta-human that Cicada went out to hunt and eliminate was Ralene Sharp (Cassandra Ebner) also known as Razorsharp, even though Razorsharp was short lived in the series she does have quite a lot of comic book history to her. She was created as a comic book character back in 1993 and ever since then she has been teamed up with groups known as Blood Pack and Psyba-Rats, during the events of Infinite Crisis, she grouped up with ex-Blood Pack and Psyba-Rats to take down Solomon Grundy but sadly Grundy and all who were fighting him were killed including Razorsharp but years later was resurrected by the Black Lantern Corp. However in the series she didn’t last past her first episode, stabbed right in the back by Cicada’s blade! Poor Razorsharp, I was looking forward to seeing more of her in future episodes and to hopefully see the Psyba-Rats group in the Arrowverse!
While the three were investigating Cicada more, Barry (Grant Gustin), Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker), and Cisco (Carlos Valdes) all investigated and located Caitlin’s father Thomas (Kyle Secor) also known as Icicle! Yes they found Caitlin’s father, in one of Caitlin’s mother’s black op sites. Thomas told Caitlin the origin of her Killer Frost persona and how it all started. Apparently Caitlin had signs of the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis or ALS strand in her DNA, so to stop the disease before it could ever surface Thomas gave Caitlin the cure that he tested on himself. After the cure was given to Caitlin, she started creating her split personality Killer Frost. Now we have comic book history on Icicle; the villain is best known being a Batman villain that was created in the Gotham Harbor, but there are two different versions of Icicle both have been in television series’s, the first version which is the batman villain was Dr. Joar Mahkent and the second is the son of Joar Mahkent known as Cameron Mahkent; Cameron became a villain to the Justice Society. You might recognize the name Mahkent, thanks to animated series’s such as Super Friends, Justice League animated series, and Young Justice and live action series Smallville! Icicle has had many iterations but I think this iteration is going to be the more better version, even though Smallville did it more accurately for Icicle, the twisting to the story for The Flash series made it even more interesting and maybe more dangerous for future episodes!
We finally got Killer Frost back though people! Killer Frost has been dormant all this time inside of Caitlin’s mind because of the villain Brainstorm’s powers that Davoe used last year. But because her friends were in mortal danger and about to die a dangerous death it forced Killer Frost to re-emerge and soon Caitlin will be able to bring her back out by herself!
