Okay guys and gals we had another great episode brought to us tonight! And we had quite a lot that happened so lets get to this review!
So in this episode Jefferson/Black Lightning (Cress Williams) followed Looker’s (Sofia Vassilieva) trail to get Anaya’s (Birgundi Baker) baby back from Looker and her people. But things don’t go as planned, like always. When Looker tried getting word of where the other baby is, she used torture techniques to try to get it out of Jefferson but it didn’t work. Instead when they went into the other torture technique with the lightning, they only charged Jefferson up, which is something that he needed anyway. He was able to beat up those Sange thugs easily!
Jefferson was able to zoom himself into his suit and because of that electrical charge or I think that’s why he was able to zoom so fast into that suit. I mean there would be no other way right? But at least Jefferson got the second baby to safety and then went to go help out Anissa (Nafessa Williams) to defend Anaya and her other baby especially when Looker was able to find the location of the other baby. Which is weird, how was she able to sense the other baby’s location like that? Was it because she still had a some what up link from the other twin that it linked her to the other baby? It’s hard to say what really happened there, but in the end Looker got stabbed, her slaves are no longer linked to her and I’m pretty sure she’s dead!
Aside from that we saw Jefferson and Gambi (James Remar) reconnect in this episode and it was good to see those two reconnect and have their father/son connection on the show again because truth be told we all have missed that relationship on the show. It’s the relationship that we were first introduced to in the show and its the relationship that’s grown that we all have loved and really missed when they had that falling out last season! I’m glad that it’s going to be coming back and I hope it comes back to stay forever. I mean I understand that Gambi is staying in hiding so that he can keep everyone safe but still, we need Uncle Gambi to come back!
We also saw Jennifer (China McClain) and Khalil (Jordan Calloway) get back together or help each other out in a way. I mean Jennifer pretty much told Khalil that she would have his back no matter what. And when Khalil failed Tobias (Marvin Jones III) was wanting to put the hurt on Khalil, and not the pretty hurt I think he wanted Khalil dead after failing to kill the Reverend (Clifton Powell) again. It was like Khalil had his three strikes and that was the end of the ball game for him, no more sorry’s or anything. Tobias was just going to kill Khalil, but it was thanks to Jennifer that she was able to help Khalil run away and she also opened herself up to Khalil about her powers, Khalil thought up of a solution, run away and never look back. But where the hell are they running away too, Opal City? Star City? Central City? Gotham? I mean it could be anywhere.
Now we had more of Thundergrace happen in this episode; I love seeing Grace (Chantal Thuy) and Anissa together, those two are literally the best shipped characters ever. And we saw more of Grace’s powers manifest until she took her pills to suppress them again. But I have a feeling that we will be seeing those pills not have anymore of an effect and she is going to go full on super strength her way out of control and then she will have Anissa there at her side helping her control her powers. Maybe Anissa will come clean about her powers to Grace, and then they can be a super couple! Wouldn’t that be something? I can’t wait to see what happens next with these two!
