Arrow(S07E11) “Past Sins”

Alright guys and gals, we had another great episode brought to us tonight! We literally had a huge scare brought to us tonight, we had a new squad brought to live, Oliver tries connecting with Emiko, and we saw Oliver and Laurel having to deal with things from the past.

So this episode we saw Oliver (Stephen Amell) try to connect with Emiko (Sea Shimooka) but she doesn’t want to connect nor listen to what Oliver has to say. All she ever sees when she looks at Oliver is a version of the man that she would call her father meaning Robert Queen that is. But perhaps one day soon Emiko will not see Oliver that way and see him as a man that is completely different from his father, but like all wounds it will take time to heal and with Emiko’s wounds of the heart it will take major time but I’m sure we will get there and see Oliver and Emiko be the new sibling vigilante duo eventually.

In this episode we saw some familiar faces like one of my favorites, Cupid (Amy Gumenick), the fearless China White (Kelly Hu), and Slade’s son Kane (Liam Hall) to help be the new “suicide squad” or what they are calling Ghost Initiative only because they can’t use the name Suicide Squad due to there being more movies coming out in the near future. But it was a true treat to see Cupid again, thats one of the many Green Arrow villains that I truly love and to see her continuously come back to the series is something that I love. Especially Amy Gumenick playing the character, she’s so good at the role and definitely does a phenomenal job as Cupid; I just hope that we see more of Cupid in future episodes, I would love to see her again with her bow and heart shaped arrows, maybe even a new suit. I would love to see her in a red and green or red and black suit with a mask that matches her red hair. But here’s to hoping that we get more episodes with Cupid either this season or next season or a future season it would be awesome!

We did get quite a scare though in this episode, making us think that Curtis (Echo Kellum) was killed by Diaz (Kirk Acevedo) almost gave me a heart attack, Curtis is one of the characters that I’ve come to love now in these current seasons. I can’t stand to lose someone as awesome and smart as Curtis but when they revealed that it was all a trick I was like thank god, I can’t lose a favorite character this time around. I can forgive the writers to trick us but man, after that scare that we had earlier this superhero seasons with Cisco, and now Curtis; I don’t think my little heart can take much more scares like that. It’s not funny, that death was so convincing it scared the hell out of me!

I also have to say way to go to David Ramsey who directed this episode. The camera moves and cinematography skills used in this episode were phenomenal; I enjoyed watching this episode and look forward to watching this episode again because the directing was so well done. Everyone who worked on this episode did a fantastic job and I can’t wait to see what happens next!
