Alright guys and gals, we had another great episode brought to us tonight and it was a good one! We saw Jennifer go after Tobias on her own, we saw Anissa starting to research about Grace’s past, and Jefferson had a chance to get things in his life back! Lets get to this review!
In this episode we saw Anissa (Nafessa Williams) start looking into her girlfriend’s past; Anissa is really curious about Grace (Chantal Thuy) and where she comes from but so are we. I think that we all are really curious to know about Grace’s past because it’s the one thing that is a total mystery ever since we first saw Grace in the series. And we got some answers, like Grace is not her real name, and that she was abandoned on the streets at a young age. Thrown into trafficking and disappeared, which we have to wonder if the reason she disappeared for so long in her life is because she couldn’t control her powers. I mean it was because her powers were resurfacing that made Grace leave now so it would make sense that in that time gap of disappearing that she was trying to find ways of controlling her abilities or finding a way to hide them. I guess we will find out more to the story eventually, I mean it’s obvious that Anissa is going to be searching for Grace for the remaining episodes while also dealing with things in the Peirce family. But I hope that when Anissa does find Grace, that Anissa is honest with Grace and tells her about her powers so that maybe Grace doesn’t have to hide anymore. I guess all in due time.
Meanwhile Jennifer (China McClain) goes on a bit of a rampage trying to find Tobias (Marvin Jones III), which is completely understandable why she wants Tobias dead especially since he’s the reason why Khalil died and she wants that revenge. But just like how Gambi (James Remar) said about Jennifer that she can literally be a ticking time bomb with her powers, but it doesn’t matter because until Tobias comes to justice, Jennifer will always be rampaging her way through the streets through Tobias’s gang people. I have to admit, I never thought this would be the way that Jennifer would eventually start using her powers in the open but like I said it’s understandable that she wants to have revenge. But I still wonder, when Gambi will reveal to Jennifer her superhero suit. I have a feeling that it’s going to be coming up soon but we shall see!
As for Jefferson/Black Lightning (Cress Williams) he almost got his old job as principal back, I mean who wouldn’t want to have Jefferson back as principal. He was so good at it and he always showed a side of compassion towards the care and well being of the students and I think that’s what a lot of people are wanting back in the series too but it’s also understandable why he didn’t accept his old position back. Because he remembered that when he had to go out and be Black Lightning; Jefferson wasn’t able to be there for the students like how he had promised to be and everyone always wondered where he went. But I don’t think everyone respects Jefferson being more mind open to try to give Principal Lowery (P. J. Byrne) another try. Even though I feel like Lowery shouldn’t be given another chance because you can easily see that he doesn’t care about the student’s well being nor cares about the students in general, he only cares about being a person who can bring on the rules strictly as possible and that’s just not cool man. But you never know maybe after Lowery hears that Jefferson stood up for him that maybe he will change his ways; could I be over thinking it? Maybe but we shall see, and remember we wont have another new episode until March 4th!
