As the title suggests, this is the big moment Will & Grace fans have been waiting for. Jack’s big day has arrived, and his perfect day is in danger of becoming derailed, but can love put the ceremony back on track? It can go either way. (Spoilers Ahead)
The times they are a ‘changin.
In a true, comedic twist, the impending nuptials are forced to take a detour when their flight to Spain is canceled. A heartbroken Jack (Sean Hayes) tries to deal with his rising emotions. This was supposed to be his day, done his way. All his well-laid plans are crumbling before him. Estefan (Brian Jordan Alvarez), is determined to make the best of a bad situation. Declaring they will get married one way or another, even if it’s right there in the middle of the airport.
It’s becoming increasingly clear that Karen (Megan Mullally) has no idea what she is doing, and where she is going in life. There at the airport bar, Smitty (Charles C. Stevenson Jr.) appears, giving so much-needed sage advice to a spiraling Karen. Maybe she isn’t gay, maybe she is just lost. Karen needs to find herself again, and this isn’t the way. Cue the deceleration of her not being straight over the intercom, that’s one way to break up with someone.
Each character is dealing with their own, personal issues this episode. They are all working towards something better, and that becomes evident when Grace (Debra Messing) realizes that she is only “happy enough”, but that shouldn’t be enough. The relationship between her and Will (Eric McCormack) is so endearing, and even though she may be upset with him, he speaks the truth. Grace deserves 100%, she deserves the world and so much more. In enters Marcus (Reid Scott), allowing a new awakening to begin.
here comes the bride
Even though this wasn’t Jack’s dream wedding, it doesn’t matter, he is finally going to be with the one he loves. With loved ones by their side and the aid of the lovely Miss Coco Peru, they are married, right there in the picturesque airport. This day is supposed to be all about Jack, right? In a true, out of character and impulsive decision, Will asks McCoy to marry him (of course he says yes!). Neither can stand being away from each other and with a big job opportunity in London, now is the time to take a chance.
It seems as though they are finally getting what they’ve always wanted. Sometimes stepping outside your comfort zone has a positive outcome. It’s time for Grace to find her way, and in an impulsive decision, she boards a plane with Marcus, off onto a whirlwind adventure. What about Noah, you may be asking yourself? I think that ship has sailed. It wasn’t meant to be, but perhaps this is.
This was the season finale for Will & Grace, with so many significant changes, we can only surmise what is going to happen next. Unfortunately, the break will be long, and we will have to wait for next season to see what happens next.
