Supergirl (S04E20) “Will The Real Miss Tesmacher Please Stand Up?

Alright guys and gals we had a great episode brought to us tonight and it was a good one. Will Lockwood continue to have super powers? Will Alex ever get the chance to be a mom? Will Alex and Kelly start something more than friends kind of thing? We have a lot to talk about so lets get to this review!

In this episode we saw the adventures of Kara/Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) and Lena (Katie McGrath) while they headed to Kaznea, Russia and their trip was going great until it got interrupted by the plane almost getting strike by purple lightning. Which the lightning was not normal, so who or what started the lightning? I guess we will never really know until later on. But we did see Eve (Andrea Brooks) but it wasn’t Eve or it was or it wasn’t or it was again, it turns out Eve was made into an experiment with one of the aliens powers extracted from the alien and put into Eve’s dna to help her copy herself over and over again but they haven’t fixed the problem of those copies going dumb and dumber for the long time they stay away from the original.

Meanwhile, Alex (Chyler Leigh) and Kelly (Azie Tesfai) were hanging out when Alex got the call that she’s always been hoping for, the moment when she might become a mom because of the adoption agency but will it work out? And of course there’s always the point that the woman will keep the baby and not choose adoption after all. And of course Alex knows this but I find it interesting and good that Kelly has chosen to stay with Alex for this whole moment, which makes you wonder if Alex would’ve had the baby to bring home, would Kelly have stayed with Alex to maybe even show that she will always be there for Alex? Don’t get me wrong I feel like I want to ship Kelly and Alex to be a couple but at the same time it might not happen we just don’t know with these writers you know what I mean. I mean Kara had her chance with an Olsen and it didn’t really work out so maybe Alex would have better luck with an Olsen sibling. You never know the possibilities are endless! But sadly Alex didn’t get the baby because the mother had wanted to keep the baby which it sucks but at least Alex will have trusty Kelly at her side for now.

While that was going on Ben Lockwood (Sam Witwer) went on a dangerous grieving path, I understand that grief makes some people do crazy things but what Ben Lockwood did was beyond grief. It was just pure craziness that he was doing. Forcing the D.E.O. to hunt down the alien that killed his wife, chose to leave his wife’s funeral, and chose to take a super power drug to give him super powers just so he could take down Nia/Dreamer (Nicole Maines) and even when he had the super powers it still failed him to take down Dreamer. I mean his whole idea is literally crazy ever since the President (Bruce Boxleitner) gave Ben all that power as secretary of alien affairs. And where is Col. Haley (April Parker Jones) did she even make it to DC? Meetings about these things don’t last for weeks, they last days, so I’m thinking something bad happened to Haley and they just don’t know it yet.

And still the Public Enemies story arc is still happening, this is the third entry for the story arc and from where it’s going it could even last for the last two episodes forcing Kara’s name to be exonerated by beginning of Season 5. But I guess we will find out soon enough, I’m just glad that they are planning this story arc and actually making good on it. It’s literally better than any of the other story arcs they have done in the past where it was just a tease.

And I always knew there was something weird and wrong about President Baxter, and this episode literally confirmed that there is something going on with the president. I think he might even be working with Lex but it’s hard to tell. All I know is that ever since he’s had it in for Supergirl it’s been like a different person took his place and I think I might be right. Because he kidnapped Kara! Where is Kara going? guess we have to find out sooner or later!
