Alright guys and gals we had another great episode brought to us tonight and oh boy was it good, bone chilling good even!
So with this episode we finally met Jolene July (Judith Roberts) and I mean the real Jolene. We finally saw what her strong creative side really was and what it eventually turned into. We saw that Jolene was working at one of those skate and serve restaurants which you hardly see now in these days but back in the 50’s they were really popular. And it was that job that introduced Jolene to her knife to her endscape which is a tunnel known as ‘The Dark Tunnels’ pretty awesome name am I right?
We also saw our hero Vic (Ashleigh Cummings) having to stay for her psyche evaluation which meant she had to stay ninety days or more depending how much she chose to rebel against the rules. But it wasn’t too much of a horrible experience, Vic made friends with Jolene and the two got close really fast. It was nice seeing that Vic had a friend while her other friend Maggie (Jahkara Smith) had to have surgery because of her getting hit by The Wraith car. But it wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows in that psyche ward, there was the doctor Dr. Janes (Bruce Altman) who wanted to hear the truth about Charlie Manx (Zachary Quinto) or at least what Vic thought was the truth. But Vic didn’t want any part of the mind games. And in the end of Jolene’s life she was able to help Vic see how to defeat Charlie Manx, by killing his car.
But it seems not all strong creatives are meant to take their knives and go in strong for the fight, it seems as though Maggie might be losing her way which is not a good sign. I feel like Maggie would’ve been the one to help Vic out in tough situations but instead she dumps her scrabble tiles in the trash and breaks up with them like a bad prom date experience. But with Maggie not having her scrabble tiles, what’s going to be her next steps?
Honestly, I would’ve preferred Maggie to of stayed in town and for her and Vic to become roommates and getting jobs and paying rent together to live together. I feel like that’s what Vic was even hoping for from Maggie as well but instead Maggie had the urge to go home and be done with the Wraith investigation forever but we all know that the investigation is never going to be over with her. Now that Charlie Manx knows who Maggie is he could come and give her death threats or even worse try finishing the job by killing our poor Maggie. But we can’t lose our Maggie, Maggie must stay and live.
This episode was a good one and did reveal that Charlie Manx did in fact have a heart for our dear departed Jolene, it’s sad she never got the chance to see Christmas Land but maybe Vic will be able to and destroy it and Manx all in one stroke but we’ll have to wait and see!
