Ladies and Gentlemen we have finished the first season with an explosive first season finale and it was indeed explosive and we have a lot to talk about!
So first off our hero Vic McQueen (Ashleigh Cummings) literally stood up to new grounds in these two amazing episodes. It was indeed one of the many toughest challenges that the character had to face this season and she did it victoriously! We saw Vic and Charlie have some pretty harsh standoffs in this two parter. With the first part she had to figure out how to find Craig (Dalton Harrod) who got kidnapped by Charlie Manx (Zachary Quinto) and Bing (Olafur Olafsson) after Manx found out about the defilement of Vic and Craig it really broke the poor vampire’s heart. You could see how devastated he was because he really thought Vic was the one.
Vic found Charlie’s evil Roll-Royce Wraith hiding in Colorado, but Charlie wasn’t alone he had newly turned vampire Bradley (Pierson Salvador) and with the heartbreak of Charlie he had to cripple Vic anyway possible so he threw her dirt bike into the Shorter Way Bridge forcing the psychic link to close but not forever. I’m sure Vic will find a way to get her bridge back in Season 2, but it’s hard to say if it really will happen or not.
After Charlie got rid of the bike he tried getting rid of Vic by burning her into the house that Charlie had his family live in before he became all vampire like. But that’s not all, while Vic was busy trying to be Craig’s knight in shining armor. Maggie (Jahkara Smith) had her own troubles by helping the police and detective Hutter (Ashley Romans) try to understand that there are forces at work that can not be explained but labeled as supernatural. And I think we have a believer now, and it’s about time that Hutter started believing them, at least the tiles were able to help by trying to catch Bing but even the police were too late, by the time they got there he was already gone.
As Vic almost didn’t make it out alive she did see all the ornaments of all the kids on the tree making her remember all the visions she had before and conversations with evil Millie Manx (Mattea Conforti). When Vic was able to get to the road away from the fire, she met her little sidekick with possible benefits later down the road Lou Carmody (Jonathan Langdon) who found Vic in a frantic state but chose to help her anyway by taking her to a phone. But we all know who Vic’s real sidekick in supernatural crime is Maggie. The two of them are like Batgirl and Batwoman kicking ass together. And sure enough Lou would be a comic book reader, maybe this will help Vic to keep up her art skills since there’s a guy who loves art.
Its sad that Craig had to die while Vic burned the car to the ground but at least Charlie is in that coma or is he, dun dun dun! In the end or end of first half of the story we see Vic pregnant with Craig’s child and Lou is helping her with the baby but we all know that eventually Charlie will come after Vic and her child because you can’t kill a monster without becoming a monster yourself.
Honestly, I really love this series, it goes by the book so well and I’m proud to be reviewing this marvelous series. It’s a fantastic story, it’s amazing, the characters are amazing and lovable. It’s everything you ever would want in a vampire story. I’m sure Vic will find her way to the Shorter Way Bridge again and maybe even take Lou for a ride on the magical bridge. I’m hoping in season 2 Maggie and Vic reunite with Lou being the sidekick to both of them, to me that would be awesome! I’m sure Charlie is going to be going after Sophie (Veda Durgampudi) when he does wake up and has a working car again. And I’m sure Charlie will continue to use Bing in Season 2 because we all saw him escape and change his identity to someone new. Whatever happens, I’m excited for season 2, I’m sure we’ll get season 2 by next Summer probably with another 10 episode run because it worked so well the last time. I hope you all enjoy the rest of your summer and enjoy all your fall tv shows and see you all next time for Season 2!
Until we meet again for NOS4A2 Season 2 on AMC!
