Batwoman(S01E01) “Pilot”

Welcome all new and old readers and let us welcome a new take on Gotham City for the series Batwoman! It’s truly an honor to review this series and I can’t wait to see what else happens in the continuing of this season. So let’s get to this review!

Okay so in this world three years ago Batman and Bruce Wayne both disappeared and were never heard from again. It’s hard to say what really made him disappear but I have some theories as to what might’ve caused it. But fear not Gotham City your city is safe or so the police want you to think. But there is a new savior coming to fight the evil corruption of Gotham City and that person is the amazing Kate Kane (Ruby Rose) who will become Batwoman.

In this episode we do see Kate’s world get turned upside down by the reveal of her cousin Bruce being Batman, I know a shocker. She also gets a little bit of understanding that like Lucious, his son Luke Fox aka Batwing (Camrus Johnson) is keeping an eye on things above and below for Bruce’s company Wayne Corporations and for the Bat Cave. But while Bruce is away Kate will be doing some justice of her own with a new suit that will eventually get a red wig.

Now this first episode had moments almost like a Batman movie but I guess they would have to give it that feel for the beginning to make people understand how Kate became the ass kicking hero we saw her being in the Elseworlds crossover last year. That being said we met the big bad that may have more connections to Kate than meets the eye. Alice aka Beth Kane (Rachel Skarsten) who you may remember from Alice in Wonderland but it’s hard to say how Alice or Beth came to become the big bad villain.

My theory to how Beth became Alice is that when the car all those years ago when sweet Beth and Kate were kids went over into the river, Mad Hatter found Beth and kept her prisoner and kept calling her Alice and started dressing her up as Alice and was hoping for one day Alice to love dear mister Hatter but then Batman stopped Hatter but not in time for the permanent damage to have taken set in Beth’s brain making her think she is Alice. That’s my theory but it can always be another different story they go with.

Overall this first episode was amazing and I can’t wait to see what Alice has in store for our new dark knight! Buckle up kids it’s going to be a strange and weird and badass trip down the rabbit hole! I recommend any and all to give this series a try it will be amazing!
