Alright guys and gals we had another great episode brought to us tonight! We have quite a bit that we will be talking about in this episode because it’s quite a lot that happened in this episode! So let’s get to this review!
So in this episode we got an understanding about these assassins that Leviathan are hiring to take out certain targets. In this episode we saw the villainous Rip Roar/Octopus (Nick Sagar) which was an interesting villain brought to us tonight.
in the comics Octopus was a villain that had literally the shortest time in the DC Comics ever. Octopus was a villain who faced off against Superman and Batman countless times during post crisis but when the crisis hit Octopus was the first one to be erased from existence and after that he was never seen again. The only thing that made Octopus really useful was his extra arms anyway.
But with the series they did an upgrade to the design for Octopus by giving him a helmet and robotic tentacle arms that makes him look like a hybrid of Dr. Octopus from Marvel Comics and Robocop. But it did make him a good assassin I suppose.
Octopus had stolen a dangerous weapon though, which he had to use on the arctic ordered by Leviathan to do so. The weapon was a Lex Luthor prototype that was to be as powerful as the sun with the modifications to make it more powerful. But with Octopus now in custody at the DEO, who will be the next one that Leviathan releases? And it didn’t make the news to William (Staz Nair) about his supposed “dead best friend” is the Octopus. I mean at least he heard the news from Kara/Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) which makes him know that he can count on her.
At least Kara and Jon (David Harewood) were able to stop the disaster that would’ve wiped out National City. And poor Kelly (Azie Tesfai) was almost right in the middle of disaster. Luckily Alex (Chyler Leigh) was able to save Kelly with the help of Dreamer (Nicole Maines).
If it wasn’t for Dreamers abilities to help with that wave a lot of people would have died. But that’s why National City is always happy to have many heroes in its city. In my opinion Kara did a really great job helping Nia/Dreamer become the hero that she is now. Dreamer is the hero that we all need in our lives.
But with everything that has happened to Kelly, one has to wonder if she will be okay. Of course she will always be worrying about Alex, but with a lot of these near death incidents that have happened to her there’s surely going to be some kind of mental break eventually. But at least Nia is willing to be there to help Kelly if she ever needs help, that’s a true friend right there.
I’m sure by either the mid season finale or before it we will see who controls Leviathan and I have a feeling I know who it is but I don’t want to say just yet.
