Prepare yourselves for another emotional one.
It just looks like our characters can’t have a break. Now that everything looked fine, something had to happen. In this case, multiple somethings. I can’t complain though, because it makes for good television, but I would love to have one “happy” episode. Is that too much to ask?
The episode starts actually pretty well. It’s funny, it’s bloody (just how I like it) and everything looks pretty great among everyone. Buck is back on the job and that’s really good to see. And yeah, they respond to all about an huge accident on a ice skate ring. As I said, it was pretty bloody and I was actually shocked about it but it gave some pretty funny scenes afterwards. I mentioned this in my previous post as well but it’s just unbelievable how we keep finding out more and more about the characters. When you think you know everything about them, something new is “discovered”. This time, we discover that Bobby was an ice skater. And of course, the Team had to make a bit funny of him. It was cute.
Along with that injury, they also had to deal with an out of control car and a warehouse accident. Those were pretty impressive accidents (something tells me this week it was about technology) but that was not the focus of the episode. This episode focused a lot on the characters, a lot more than usual.
The first character we dive in is Eddie. As soon as everything is fine with Buck we had to deal with Eddie. As I said, nothing can be 100% okay. But anyway, as predicted, Eddie’s fighting club gets out of control. Not only it went from just a “casual” thing to a real illegal fight club, but also, in his latest fight, he nearly killed his opponent. Of course that had repercussions and Bobby found out about it, making Eddie not only open up to him but also get him into therapy.
But, the main focus of the episode was really Hen.
We see her dealing with her relationship with Karen after the loss of the embryos and, if that wasn’t enough, the episode ends with Hen having a car accident (while on the job) with the woman in the other car dying and Hen facing an investigation by the LAPD and the LAFD.
I have to say, that last scene with Hen and Athena really broke me. That was some amazing acting skills so applause to Aisha Hinds for an “out of this world” performance.
Needless to say that I can’t wait for another episode (as usual).
In the meantime, let us know all your thoughts on this episode in the comments and I’ll catch you up on the next one – Monday, November 25 at 8/7c on FOX.
