Alright ladies and gentleman we had another great episode brought to us tonight! We did have a bit of a scare this episode but at least everything is okay now so let’s get to this review!
So in this episode we saw Anissa (Nafessa Williams) preparing for the worst if the venom did reign victory over her. Which I think I speak for everyone we all almost had a heart attack when we saw Anissa kind of seizure up when the venom took full effect. But that video she was making made all of us assume the worst and I might’ve gotten a little teary eyed with that message too.
In the light of things we saw that Gambi (James Remar) put the dots together with the venom infecting Anissa by revealing its Khalil or who we now call Painkiller (Jordan Calloway). And now that Gambi knows that the ASA Frankenstein’d Khalil back to life. We have to wonder will Gambi tell Anissa or Jennifer (China McClain) about Khalil being alive? Or will he keep it a secret and not tell anyone about his discovery? It’s hard to say what Gambi will do but I hope he at least tells Anissa about the discovery.
With the death of Tavon though, it weighed heavy not only on Jefferson/Black Lightning (Cress Williams) but also on Anissa as well. Both of our heroes had heavy hearts knowing it was their fault that the boy died, but there’s nothing they can do, it’s not like they have The Flash on that earth so they can reverse time and save Tavon…that we know of.
Even though I’ve been hoping for Agent Odell’s (Bill Duke) death, I never wanted him to die by a gun shot. I was always hoping it would’ve been a meta who would’ve given him the ass kicking. But instead he bit the bullet and in his dying wish he demanded for Jefferson to kill Colonel Mosin (Thomas K. Belgray) and felt he had to judge Jefferson when he said he doesn’t kill people. In all opinions, I feel like Odell shouldn’t judge anyone especially when he’s dying.
Don’t get me wrong I wasn’t the biggest fan of Odell but no one deserves to get killed by gun shot. Although at least he did go out the way he hoped he would fighting the good fight and defending the people in his own way.
But with Odell now gone, who will take command of the ASA now? Hopefully no one whose worse than Odell, because ever since Odell showed his face in the series I never trusted him and never liked him. So if they bring someone in that’s worse than Odell, that person would have to make you cringe or say “sounds like an evil person” to be worse than Odell. So we will see!
Will things get better with the new voice for the Resistance? Or will it result in more bloodshed? There’s only one way to find out by keep watching every Monday!
