Alright ladies and gentleman we had a great episode brought to us tonight! With next episode being the crossover it’s an episode that had to set up a lot! So let’s get to this review!
So in this episode we had Team Arrow on the island where it all started, that’s right people we were taken to Lian Yu which actually has a purpose in this episode by being the most honed energy to create the weapon that The Monitor (LaMonica Garrett) needed the team to make. And with this there would have to be challenges from the past.
We had Yao Fei (Byron Mann) which it was so good seeing him again after all these years. Even if it was for only the soul reason to help Oliver (Stephen Amell) come to terms permanently with what could happen to him during the crisis. I’m really glad that Yao Fei was able to give Oliver one final lesson about family and saying goodbye.
But it’s not all we also had Edward Fyers (Sebastian Dunn) return in this episode; for those that have forgotten, Fyers was the first man that made Oliver’s life on the island full on Hell. I mean the guy made Oliver suffer hell by torture, suffered from losing Yao Fei by him and he was Oliver’ first kill, human kill that is.
With the crisis coming soon I think Mia (Katherine McNamara) was feeling the pressure by knowing something could possibly happen to the father she just started getting to know. But I also understand that she wanted to not say goodbye because she just doesn’t want to say it because if she says it then it will feel real. I have to say I have loved the moments that Oliver and Mia have shared on screen it’s wonderful father/daughter moments.
And because of different events happening in the present, does this mean that now in the future Roy/Arsenal (Colton Haynes) will now have his arm gone? Or will they somehow have it to where Argus or Wayne tech or even Felicity make Roy a new arm. Maybe like one that Oliver had in that one possible future back in Legends season one. Whatever they choose to do about Roy and his arm now gone I look forward to seeing what happens.
And we see that Diggle (David Ramsey) makes Oliver one last promise to get his kids back to the future timeline that they belong in. But how will they get back home? Will it be by Barry/The Flash (Grant Gustin)? Or Wally/Kid Flash? Or some other way? It’s hard to say but it will be interesting to see what the writers came up with.
At least Oliver and Mia were able to have one last father and daughter conversation and hug and even told Oliver about the Green Arrow stories she was told but she also had reasons to hate the stories because they were about her father who wasn’t there for her. And Lyla/Harbinger (Audrey Anderson) came to Oliver and Mia telling them the crisis is here.
Crisis crossover is gonna be so good with excitement, cheer, and possibly tears.
