Alright guys and gals we had another great episode of the crossover brought to us tonight! We literally had everything that a crossover should, action, suspense, mystery, more action and finally a little extra surprise for all of us! So let’s get to this review!
Okay so with this part of the crossover we finally saw what Oliver/Green Arrow (Stephen Amell) became after he had accepted John Corrigan’s/The Spectre (Stephen Lobo) offer. With the offer it meant Oliver had to give up everything and become the new Spectre! Is it crazy, yes, but the beauty of it is we got to actually have Oliver in one final episode to give us a proper goodbye. Now at first I was a little confused like the rest of you on what kind of bargain Oliver was making with The Spectre but after seeing this episode it made sense. A part of the bargain was to get the team out of the vanishing point and into the speed force which sounds easy but it really wasn’t.
In order for Barry/The Flash (Grant Gustin) to tap into the speed force and travel through it with everyone; The Spectre had to unlock the hidden parts of Barry’s speed inside his mind, that’s like unlimited knowledge and power unlocked you can imagine why The Spectre cautioned Barry to be careful with that unlocked knowledge.
In the episode which being the final season of Arrow the producers and directors and writers had to figure out ways to tug at our heart strings by making us remember the good, the bad, and the sad times we’ve all had watching this show. Like the moment Sara (Caity Lotz) had died in Season 3 and had her body laying on the Arrow lair table, or the moment when Oliver and Ray/The Atom (Brandon Routh) we’re having a humongous love/hate/buddy/not buddy fight over Felicity’s (Emily Bett Rickards) heart and love, or even the moment in the Invasion crossover when Oliver and Kara/Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) first met, or the moment when in last years Elseworlds crossover when Oliver helped to stop Deegan, and we can’t forget about all the villains he took down for the 8 years! Yup we got to relive those moments in this episode which was awesome but also sad in some parts.
But I think we all can agree that after this episode we can finally say that the DCEU and extended television universe is indeed cannon in the Arrowverse! Proof of that was made in this episode when Barry ran in the speed force he came across himself in a similar looking Star Labs. Yes; Zack Snyder’s version of the geeky, nerdy Barry Allen/The Flash (Ezra Miller) made a cameo and apparently loves our Barry Allen’s Flash suit and I feel bad for DCEU Flash for not knowing about the multiverse. That poor Flash in the movie universe is gonna need so much therapy after this cameo.
Overall this part of the crossover did come with some great action scenes and a fantastic example of Big Bang 2 where the universe is reset in what image well my friends and readers that’s for us to find out!
However we did get that small glimpse into The Monitor’s (LaMonica Garrett) life when he first found out about the Anti-Monitor (LaMonica Garrett) and The Dawn of Time world, so that was cool!
