Arrow(S08E09) “Green Arrow and The Canaries”

Alright ladies and gentleman we have a great episode brought to us tonight! This is a test pilot to see how the viewers would like the new series. So let’s get to this review!

Okay given that this was a test/starter/early pilot to the spin off series it was actually a really good start. I understand why the producers and studio itself wanted to give us this test pilot. It’s to see if the spin off will really be loved by the Arrow fans and possibly bring in new fans.

With that being said I do love the new direction for the spin off series. I love Mia (Katherine McNamara) and the green arrow suit that she will be wearing in the new series. The series got off to a really good start and every moment I was glued to the tv to see what would happen next.

I have to admit Dinah’s (Juliana Harkavy) story of how she came to 2040 is really interesting. It makes me wonder what happened to her future counterpart? How did she get wiped from existence and mysteriously appear in the future. There are so many questions to that part of the story but I’m just glad we are getting this version of Dinah in the new series and with her canary cry back thank god for crisis restarting everything!

Now in this episode I will admit I really thought that Deathstroke was gonna be John Diggle Jr (Charlie Barnett) but then he turned out to be innocent but here’s the next question, where’s Sara Diggle? She was restored in the timeline, so where is she? Is she the “she” that  Trevor (Chad Duell) was talking about? Is she the cloaked figure who restored JJ’s memories? As you can see it’s raised so many questions.

It seems though having this as a test run just raised more questions than anything to me as an arrow fan and already fan of the spin off series. But I’m sure once the series gets to air we will have many questions answered. But until then we have so many questions that will not be answered.

But given that Mia now remembers both lives and is able to keep herself together, and is keeping to the Green Arrow lifestyle it’s going to be interesting to see what happens when JJ reveals he remembers everything too and that the marriage will never work out for him and Mia. It wouldn’t surprise me if the two of them try killing each other and somehow drives JJ crazy where he has to be taken to Arkham or something.

I mean I still would love to know who the mystery big bad villain is going to be. A part of me wants to be right about Sara Diggle being the big bad and trying to destroy the Queens because of some horrible incident that happens to John Diggle (David Ramsey) or because of some horrible tragedy.

Let me know your thoughts and comments on who you think the big bad will be in Green Arrow and The Canaries series?
