Alright ladies and gentleman we had a great episode brought to us tonight! It was an episode we’ve been waiting for to happen ever since the season started! So let’s get to this review!
So in this episode we finally had Lynn’s (Christine Adams) condition come out to the family only because Jefferson/Black Lightning (Cress Williams) couldn’t keep it to himself anymore. It’s good that the condition finally came out even if Lynn won’t accept it. But it’s true though, ever since episode 2, Lynn has been battling addiction with green light. She thinks she took out the addictive parts of the drug but it’s a lie she’s been adding in meth into the equation which is why she’s only being addicted and not obtaining some freaky powers.
Like how I’ve said in many of my other reviews, watching someone battle addiction is hard especially when it’s someone you love. If you know anyone who has or does battle addiction and they are looking for help look up your local hotline number.
But we also had Dr. Jace (Jennifer Riker) have a full comeback and team up to mainly help Lynn. Especially when Lynn was brought in she was battling a major withdrawal. Jace tried helping Lynn all she could but let’s face it Lynn doesn’t want anything to do with Jace or Markovians and if she doesn’t help them then she will die.
However it looks like the ASA is creating plans for Lynn’s death as well. Which is not going to go well with Jefferson and the others. But I don’t think the ASA is going to keep up their end of the deal either which won’t surprise me if this is how a lot of people will die by the season finale. Will the ASA be the cause of death and destruction of Freeland or just the resistance and everyone close to Black Lightning? Well have to find out in the next two episodes but we know one of those casualties will be Henderson.
In the other part of the episode we had Jennifer/Lightning (China McClain) revealing to Gambi (James Remar) that she can become pure energy and that’s what they needed in order to get Khalil (Jordan Calloway) back. But now that he is free from his Painkiller split personality but because the ASA had to do a lot of Frankenstein experiments on Khalil, he is now the most poisonous person by touch on the face of the earth. I think Khalil needs to be introduced to Argus and be a part of the Suicide Squad, he’d be a poisonous asset on that side of the hidden government. But I guess we will see what happens with Khalil later down the road, the poor guy has to figure things out for himself.
