Alright ladies and gentleman we had another great episode brought to us tonight! We had a new villain introduced, we had action, and we had a mission, I’ll talk about as much as I can; so let’s get to this review!
In this episode we had Jefferson/Black Lightning (Cress Williams) question to Gambi (James Remar) wither the team will be successful in rescuing Lynn (Christine Adams). Gambi reassures Jefferson that everyone will be okay and will do everything they can to make it out of their alive.
Truth be told I knew Jefferson would question a lot of the team especially Brandon (Jahking Guillory) because Jefferson doesn’t know the whole story about what happened to his mother and who killed her so it’s understandable why he would question some of the teams members motives. But the question still remains will the ASA keep with their end of the bargain with Jefferson and Team Black Lightning? I have a strong feeling they won’t, just seeing what the ASA has done this season it’s made a lot of us including me question their motives and word.
Like it’s one thing to bring a rescue team into Markovia to rescue Lynn but it’s another thing to bring in a team to rescue Tobias (Marvin Jones III). And of course the ASA kept that under wrap until it was almost time to leave on the trip. So that’s why I say it’s hard to trust the word of the ASA.
We did get the introduced to a new villain on the Markovian side of the war. The villain’s name is Gravedigger (Wayne Brady) which in the comics there’s two main characters that use the name but from what we saw in this episode this version is a combination of Ulysses Hazard and Tyson Sykes. The reason I say it’s a combination of both characters is because this Gravedigger has Tyson’s telepathic abilities but also has Ulysses’s military training from what we saw him fight with in this episode. Given that it was nice seeing a version of the character even if he is a villain on the series. I just hope we see more of the character in maybe future episodes. Because if they use him in only one episode in my opinion would be a waste of Wayne Brady’s talents. I love Wayne Brady, and he brought Gravedigger to life with pure amazement! I really hope we see him in some future episodes.
Although this was never revealed in the episode, did Tobias really escape? Or was he captured again by the Markovians? After he ran off when Jefferson/Black Lightning became busy with Gravedigger we didn’t see him on the chopper, so where did he go? I’m hoping they reveal what happened to Tobias in the next episode.
And after that fight that Khalil (Jordan Calloway) and Gravedigger had in this episode, who else would love to have a round two to that fight in a future episode? I absolutely would love to see that. What are you the fans looking forward to or hoping happens in next episodes? Let me know in the comments!
