Legends of Tomorrow(S05E05) “A Head of Her Time”

episod,Alright ladies and gentleman we had a great episode brought to us tonight! Or what the French would say “oy vey” (okay I don’t know French.) So let’s get to this review!

In this episode, Sara (Caity Lotz) had some business to take care of, so we didn’t see her as much tonight. Before she went off though, she made her girlfriend, Ava (Jes Macallan), a temporary captain until she returned. Having Ava in the spotlight in tonight’s episode was actually amazing!

I always feel like the writers aren’t sure what to do with Ava half the time. I’m glad that Ava had a little taste of what it’s like to be in charge for at least one day. Ava did really well actually, even though things did get kind of crazy and a little Walking Dead creepy. Ava did great and I hope the writers do more with her in future episodes.

Something I found really weird was that Antoinette (Courtney Ford) and Nora (also Courtney Ford) looked so much alike. It begs the question: could Antoinette be Nora’s ancestor? I mean anything is possible, but the way they look together is so weird.

In the other part of the episode, we finally got more Constantine (Matt Ryan) in an episode. Just when we get what we (the fans) asked for, they try killing off the character.  We also learned a bit more of John and Astra’s (Olivia Swann) family connection and Astra’s mother Natalie (Alice Hunter). Turns out that John had more than a friendship with Natalie, but he had to choose between her and magic. He chose magic and apparently tried to show Natalie that he made the right choice.

Just as Constantine and Natalie had a nice chance to hash things out, Astra being a little demon in Hell, decided that it would be nice to expire Constantine 10 years earlier (which I hate). They better find a way to redo what Astra did because I can’t stand not having Constantine in the series. He’s literally one of the best things that has ever happened to the series since season 3!

We need more Constantine stories done in the series. If you disagree then you don’t know how important the character is to the DC Universe or to the Arrowverse. If it wasn’t for the fans, we still wouldn’t have Constantine continue his journey with the legends. I feel like the episode’s writers kind of wanted to crap on what we (Constantine fans) have been enjoying on the Legends series!

Next Episode: Legends of Tomorrow(S05E06) “Mortal Khanbat” airs Tuesday February 25, 2020 at 9/8c on The CW.
