Alright y’all, we had a very interesting episode tonight with “interesting” being the operative word, so let’s get to this review!
In this episode, we see Ralph/Elongated Man (Hartley Sawyer) and Sue Dearbon (Natalie Dreyfuss) find one another. After an exploding entrance, the captivated audience wonders if Sue will be more than her comic book counterpart. I think we are going to get one hell of a great Sue Dearbon in this series!
For those who know Sue from the comics also know that she eventually becomes Sue Dibny. However, it looks like poor Ralph is going to have to try really hard to win Sue’s heart in this series. Especially since the writers made the character a thief. With the suit Sue wore, you can see they are suiting her up to be like Catwoman. Honestly, I like this version of Sue a lot more because it’s a version that is going to challenge Ralph more than usual.
Besides Sue, we are also introduced to our new Mirror Master, Eva McCulloch (Efrat Dor). Eva looks like she’s not having the greatest time while being stuck in the “Mirror World.” (Or at least that’s what she calls it, given that she is the second Mirror Master.) I’m actually glad that they are stretching out the origin with this version a bit. I mean poor Eva didn’t even know that she had developed mirror powers until Iris (Candice Patton) wandered into the mirror and somehow dark matter cloned her. (I’m still not buying that, however.)
Eva, our new Mirror Master, also has two versions of herself right? What if the evil version turned itself into the Iris Clone? I mean, that could be the case, right? I could go through so many what if’s, but you know that there’s something up with that Iris imposter especially when she got her hands on the mirror gun.
With Eva getting a handle on her new abilities, she should be able to get Iris and herself of the mirror. What will happen once Eva gets out of the mirror? Will she find out that her husband has made a criminal organization through her company?
Also, the diamond that Sue stole wasn’t just any diamond. I believe that it was a mirror reflective diamond, which only works with the mirror gun. Sue doesn’t know that just yet, but I think she’s going to find out very soon. Especially if she goes to pay Carver a visit to find out what the diamond really is. After all, the diamond has the black hole symbol plastered on it in ultraviolet light.
