People we did it! We have finally made it to the 100 mark! Almost every series in the Arrowverse has reached the 100th episode and now Supergirl finally met hers tonight! First it was Arrow, then The Flash ,and now Supergirl with the 100th! So let’s get to this review!
In this episode, Mr. Mxyzptlk (Thomas Lennon) returns to finally right the wrongs with everyone and Kara/Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) is the final one. Since Kara is wanting to right the wrong of never telling Lena (Katie McGrath) that she thinks that she can go back in time without consequences. Has Kara even learned anything from about Barry/The Flash’s stories of when he went back in time to change things to have it go terribly wrong? Did she never ask why he can never go back in time?
Well Kara has to find out the hard way as to why you never go back in time to change things. Even if it’s the littlest of things, there has to be a balance. I think after many timelines, Kara finally figures out that you can’t change time, especially fixed points of time. Every moment she goes to is pretty much a fixed point that needs a balance between life and death.
Some of the timelines don’t seem that bad at first and we get to revisit some of the awesome seasons. For example, Season 2 when Lena is first introduced, or Season 3 when Mon-El (Chris Wood) returns and we had Reign (Odette Annable).
I loved seeing Reign and Mon-El back on the show. It shows how much I really miss those characters because Mon-El was one of the characters that actually loved Kara. She had to let him go due to moving on to a future superhero. However, I still miss those characters.
In one future timeline, Kelly Olsen (Azie Tesfai) becomes the next Guardian, Winn (Jeremy Jordan) is Computer Lad still, and Nia/Dreamer (Nicole Maines) has an Anakin Skywalker like scar from a nasty battle. That future is very bad because Lena never knows Supergirl’s identity and is turned into Metallo. (At least that doesn’t become the actual future or at least yet.)
After Kara accepts that there is no changing the past to preserve a friendship, it did come down to a major ultimatum for poor Lena. This makes us wonder, will Lena be permanently classified as a villain after this episode or will she be redeemed? I honestly see possibilities for her redemption and bring back the friendship (or more between those two.) That’s my opinion though.
