Saanvi’s potential cure for the passengers started going awry last week, when she had zero recollection of kissing her ex-girlfriend Alex, or anything that she had done earlier that day. After Zeke expressed concern to her as he had started to freeze, she offered him the cure. However when Zeke showed up and noticed Saanvi acting as if she was high, repeating actions just a few seconds after doing them, he refused the treatment. He became worried about Saanvi and eventually involved her ex, who gave her medication to sedate her. We’re still unsure of what lasting implications the ‘cure’ will have on Saanvi. However after erasing her callings, things haven’t been going well for the junior doctor.
This episode’s main focus was on Ben, Cal, Grace, Olive, TJ and one mind-boggling calling. After Cal started to use materials for a crib to build something that he was unable to explain to his parents, the family decided to work together to figure out what Cal’s calling meant. Grace’s dizziness combined with the fact that Olive couldn’t see the storm outside that everyone else was seeing, lead them back to the journal of Al-Zuras, a man who had seemingly had a similar experience to 828 many years before the plane vanished.
Eventually the family worked out that their calling was showing them what Al-Zuras went through on a boat, which gave them a vision of an extreme storm. The journal also implied that those who tried to cure themselves from the death date ultimately would end up dying. Ben connected this to Saanvi due to her testing on herself. What’s even more chilling is that Saanvi appeared to be in a drawing in the journal.
After Michaela finally found out that Jared was involved with the X’ers in last week’s episode, things took an unexpected turn for her. When Internal Affairs showed up at the precinct, Michaela assumed they were there to take down Jared . However, it was soon clear that the Internal Affairs Officers were there to discuss Michaela, and her confusing trail of solved cases with little evidence. Michaela soon called in a Union Representative, who managed to get her time to defend herself later that day. While Michaela was being interrogated, her former fiancé was making his way to Simon, an X’er, to find out why Michaela was under fire.
When Jared found out that the X’ers were planning on hurting Michaela, he rushed back to the precinct. He often appears when Michaela is in danger, and once again he managed to save the day. When Jared recognised Michaela’s Union Rep from an X’er meeting, he arrested Michaela to get her out of harm’s way. The young detective was understandably annoyed with Jared, before he explained to her that he had saved her life. Hopefully next episode will provide a more detailed explanation of this situation and the surrounding questions that remain unanswered.
