Alright my readers we had a very good episode brought to us tonight! We will be talking about a lot, I’ll try getting to most but can’t promise. So let’s get to this review!
So with this episode it was one I think a lot of fans of Nia/Dreamer (Nicole Maines) were waiting for. And we finally got an episode this season that was based around Nia and her transgender community. It’s truly an amazing episode that brings us into the world of Nia.
When I say world of Nia, I don’t mean exploring more of her powers, but more of who she is as a person. And someone who is a part of the transgender community and by exploring this part of Nia it makes it a moving and powerful episode. This episode really touched my heart and I think all fans of Nia can agree.
I think we all can agree that it’s horrible how some or even most people of the transgender community are treated. Do I personally know those struggles? No but I do have friends in the transgender community and they have shared with me their struggles they have in this world.
In this episode a man who goes by a fake name Angus (Pierson Fode) targets the transgender community. He sees the community as corrupted people who don’t deserve to live and wants to bully Dreamer to hang up her superhero days forever. But Dreamer wasn’t giving up without a fight. Because of Nia/Dreamer’s roommate Yvette (Roxy Wood) been a victim of Angus. And that’s what makes Nia see red, she sees a friend and a roommate who have been bullied to a low point in their life.
Bullying is never okay wither it’s targeting people of a community or someone whose gay or anyone for that matter. It’s never okay to do because it’s something that just isn’t tolerated. It’s something that tortures a humans soul or makes one stronger by surviving. If you know someone who is or was being bullied it’s always important to keep in contact with that person. To always help them by being there for them, sometimes they just need to know someone is there trying to help.
Speaking of being a helping hand, both Kara/Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) and Brainy (Jesse Rath) had the right idea to be there for Nia in their own ways at first. But Kara was the real helping hand by being there for Nia and giving her the right kind of advice so Nia wouldn’t cross the line.
And we kind of see a bit of Alex (Chyler Leigh) avatars for Obsedian virtual reality. One of them being a little bit of a tease for her to maybe get the idea to try to become Superwoman. Only time will tell!
