Alright my readers this was an episode that was the final episode for a character. This episode had action, magic, and theater all wrapped in a big package. So let’s get to this review!
So in this episode we had Mona (Ramona Young) return for a goodbye to two of our characters. Which I loved seeing Mona comeback even for one episode. I’ve really missed her on the show, she added a lot of heart to the show with the hilarious and craziness of the show. Even with her coming back she had wisdom for dear Mick/Heatwave (Dominic Purcell) she gave him some good advice.
But yes this was the very, very last episode of Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh) I’m glad they brought his story with a close to being goofy one last time. Even if things didn’t go right for the mission at first. Seeing Ray say goodbye to everyone really made me teary eyed. Because one, Ray has always been the original heart of the show. The one who made everyone change for the better. If it wasn’t for Ray, Sara (Caity Lotz) wouldn’t have grown to become the phenomenal captain she is of the waverider.
I am glad they leave his story open in case they want both Ray and Nora (Courtney Ford) to return to help if it ever comes to it. But now there’s only two original cast members left on the show, Sara and Mick. We can’t lose those two! I’m heartbroken that the writers wrote out Ray and Nora but I also understand. Ray and Nora got married. They can’t keep having sex on the time ship and give birth to a time baby. But I guess all good stories must come to an end. And with Ray and Nora’s that time has come.
Luckily they were able to make Ray’s last episode with Shakespeare (Rowan Schlosberg) and needed help with his story Romeo and Juliet. Yes we all know the story but not all things can happen nicely. Even Shakespeare needed to understand sometimes you must just let go of some of your characters even if it hurts.
Poor Gideon (Amy Pemberton) will even miss Ray. I love how Gideon is slowly evolving to even show emotions towards our dear legends. It’s still bad that Gideon doesn’t remember Zari (Tala Ashe) from last season.
Now that Ray has left the ship, will someone take Ray’s spot later down the road? I guess we will find out soon enough or maybe later.
Next Episode: Legends of Tomorrow(S05E09) “Zari, Not Zari” airs Tuesday April 7, 2020 at 9/8c on The CW
