Looks like the death toll with our favorite criminal moms (Retta, Christina Hendricks, Mae Whitman) is on the rise and there’s no telling what lengths they will go to keep their secret and protect their families. Death is nothing new to them, but, this one is for the books.
So, if you haven’t watched this recent episode, you are in for the shock of your life. Rio (Manny Montana) has Mick (Carlos Aviles) shoot Lucy (Charlene Yi) right in front of the ladies. DEAD! Poor Lucy didn’t deserve to be killed. It started when Beth, of course, decided to take matters into her own hands and…
After Beth caught Mick snooping around and asking questions, she decided to hide the plates needed to make the counterfeit cash. While dealing with the family fish Dean (Matthew Lillard) inadvertently killed, he finds the plates stashed in the laundry room. Did I forget to mention that Dean had the audacity to destroy them? Dean doesn’t want to be involved with Rio by any means, but believes Rio will never hurt Beth, because he loves her. When Mick arrived to pickup the money, Beth pleaded for more time and made another deal. These men are about their money and loyalty is everything. There’s no way Mick would take a deal on the side knowing the consequences. The next best option is— Lucy. Beth, Ruby and Annie ask Lucy to help them for “casino night.” The joke is apparently on them, because, Lucy knows all about their operation, well mostly everything. She even had the shredded counterfeit money as evidence. Let’s not forget Lucy is extremely smart.
Ruby not only had to deal with Lucy, but, also with Stan and Sara (Reno Wilson, Lidya Jewett). When Ruby told Stan about Sara stealing the pen, he already knew. Stan blames Ruby for Sara’s behavior and he’s looking at Ruby differently, although, he helps to cover up crimes. In the end, Ruby pleaded with Stan not to give up on her. We want them to overcome this bump they’re facing.
Just when we thought Annie was taking ownership of her behavior, she seeks comfort from a guy, she didn’t know was homeless. After their midday romp, he asks to take a shower at the convenient store. There’s no shame in Annie’s game. She sets herself up all the time. Later, he takes shelter in his car in front of her apartment and even asked Ben (Isaiah Standard) to bring him toilet paper. Annie and Ben both need to see Dr. Cohen (Rob Heaps).
RECIPE FOR DEATH
Lucy opts not to help, so, of course Ruby, Beth and Annie hatch a plan to steal…Au Jus, Lucy’s beloved bird. Annie is truly a jack of all trades, as she breaks into Lucy’s place and with minutes to spare, seizes Au Jus right before Lucy’s boyfriend Max (Wesam Keesh) comes back. These ladies will try everything including taking a bird hostage.
While at the card store, Rio uses his pearly whites and charismatic smile to confirm that Lucy can create what he needs. When the ladies come back to the office, they find Lucy with Rio and pleads for him to let her go. Rio doesn’t give in and offers Lucy a ride back. Beth tells Rio that he needs all of the ladies to make the money.
“Just because someone offers you a cookbook doesn’t mean you can make the dish.”- Beth
Proving to Beth that she’s not in charge, Rio opts to shoot Lucy. At first, I thought it was fake, but, Rio has no loyalty and he is ruthless.
Not sure whether our criminal moms can handle this death that’s been placed on them. Things are getting crazy and they are way too involved. Max might be next, because, he’s going to move heaven and earth to find Lucy.
