Alright my readers, this episode was actually really good! We had to wait pretty much a month for this episode, but it was worth it. Let’s get to this review!
In this episode, Zari (Tala Ashe) is trying to figure out why she’s having so many “side effects.” I guess we can call them that since her old timeline self has been leaking out through the cracks of the current Zari. While Zari is trying to figure things out, the rest of the team is trying to figure out where the next piece of the loom of fate is. Constantine (Matt Ryan) takes the jump ship towards the new location and Zari goes on a vision quest.
Let’s talk about the main thing though, Behrad (Shayan Sobhian) died in another timeline! Yes Behrad, brother to Zari, has died! I know people don’t always stay dead in the series, but knowing that now there are two timelines with Behrad dying is just horrible man! I know it’s because of the Fate Sisters that he died, but still it shouldn’t have happened.
Let’s now talk about another awesome and hilarious joke thrown in. In this timeline, ‘Supernatural’ is a tv show and Sara (Caity Lotz) finds a flyer about the series filming at their current location. Next, they find Baby (Dean’s Chevy Impala) and then they make the joke about Sara finding charred bodies in the front seat and saying “Now who’s going to be filming Season 15?” It’s a funny reference to the Corona Virus shutting production down. In addition, they had a zombified person resembling Dean Winchester. Sara makes the funny comment “Dean is my hall pass,” which I feel is going to be turned into a t-shirt slogan or something.
With Behrad dead, Zari becomes the totem bearer again, but it seems like Zari will try using the loom of fate to resurrect Behrad. Sadly, I cannot see this working and this forces Zari to become the totem bearer forever. I hope they set Zari as the totem bearer again as that’s how it’s supposed to be.
Seeing the original Zari was good even though she’s now trapped in totem due to her rewritten timeline. Despite the situation, the original Zari was in awe with the present Zari. (That’s something that all Zari fans can get behind on.)
I don’t know about the rest of you, but I actually enjoyed this episode a lot. However, the question remains: how did Sara survive death? Is it because of her resurrection from the Lazarus Pit? Was it something Constantine did in a form of protection? Or is it something else? This needs further exploration! I really want to know how she survived the brink of death again.
