The Flash(S06E17) “Liberation”

Alright my readers, this episode was an interesting one. We had some things come to light that we will talk about, so let’s get to this review!

In this episode Barry/The Flash (Grant Gustin) finally knows the truth about Iris (Candice Patton) and I think I speak for all of us, when I say it’s about time. Barry goes through lists upon lists of possibilities of what could possibly have been faking Iris’ identity. The only thing he never counted on was a mirror copy of her. Quite glad that Barry finally realized the truth and he shared it with Cecile (Danielle Nicolet), so she knows the truth too.

Even though, I’m sure everyone thought Barry was losing his mind. However, Barry did have credible evidence, it’s just sad that Joe (Jesse L. Martin) wasn’t able to be here to hear the theories. Now that Barry knows about Iris’ imprisonment in the mirror universe; he will stop at nothing to get her back (which comes to a theory that I’ve had). What if the way Barry gets Iris out of the mirror world is with the help of a new suit and a new speed force? It makes sense, especially since rumors about Barry getting a new suit this season without the traditional colors.

In this episode, we also saw Barry, Cisco (Carlos Valdes), and Ralph (Hartley Sawyer) trying out the first model to create a speed force. Even though the model seemed to be working, I feel like it might’ve been missing a little something. Perhaps it will take more than Cisco, Caitlin, and Ralph’s help to figure it out.

We also saw something was wrong with Caitlin/Killer Frost (Danielle Panabaker), everything in her was freezing. The last time this started happening, Caitlin went to go see her mother in Season 3. Then she saved her mother in Season 5 after exposure to the same experiment that Caitlin’s father did to himself to create Icicle. Even though, Caitlin thought the experiment didn’t do anything to her mother. We will see that she’s going through an icy transformation this season. Let’s hope that Caitlin and her mom can work together to help both of them out.

I personally feel like Barry and possibly Cisco will find the missing piece of what they need for the artificial speed force to work properly in the next episode or two. Also with the return of Bloodwork (Sendhil Ramamurthy), I think him and Mirror Master (Efrat Dor) will create a plan together. Perhaps create a bloodwork mirror zombies to liberate the world. We will find out soon enough!
