Batwoman(S01E18) “If You Believe in Me, I’ll Believe in You”

Holy Batwoman people, this episode was amazing! We have so much that happened in this episode, and we will try to go over most. So let’s get to this review!

In this episode we see a villain rise and a villainous team up. Yes my readers, Tommy Elliot (Gabriel Mann) finally becomes Hush. I was hoping we would see Hush in this season and we finally have the beginnings of him rising. All thanks to Alice (Rachel Skarsten) and Mouse (Sam Littlefield) which is interesting. Hush’s origins is altered a little bit in this series but it makes the story even more interesting. I’m looking forward to seeing more of Hush as he rises in the coming episodes.

Tommy/Hush wasn’t the only one who showed up to work with Alice and Mouse. We also had Magpie (Rachel Matthews) which was a true treat again. Magpie is one of those villains you just like because she’s crafty in how she gets away with crimes. What I didn’t see coming was Reagan (Brianne Howey) doing a double cross to Kate/Batwoman (Ruby Rose.)

In the episode we also saw Mary (Nicole Kang) trying so hard to get into Team Batwoman. Even though Kate for most of the episode was against having Mary join. In the whole episode Mary tried hard convincing Kate that she would be valuable to the team. I would also have to agree about Mary being valuable to the team. Given that Mary is a doctor she would be able to help Kate when she has a deep injury needing to be stitched. In the end Kate did agree for Mary to become apart of the team.

There seems though to be more to Julia’s (Christina Wolfe) story about why she’s sticking around. It begs the question, who is Julia really working for? Could it be a villain from Bruce/Batman’s past? Or is it Bruce himself? I have a feeling if we see Julia fail or screw up again we will find out soon. I really hope Julia hasn’t gotten in deep with these people and chooses her allies well.

I think for me, the biggest shock was seeing Reagan work for Magpie. She does say this is the biggest betrayal she’s ever done to someone she loves. It’s also revealed she’s Magpie’s sister, which is a huge reveal. If it comes down to it, will Reagan choose her love for Kate by betraying her sister? Or will she betray Kate again by siding with her sister and choosing the villainy route? Only time will tell, but I’m still rooting for Kate and Reagan to patch things up and get back together.
